Junior Ladies Literary Mrs. Fred Whiting and Mrs. Dean Smith were joint hostesses to the Junior Ladies Literary club Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Whiting's mother, Mrs. Lawrence Briggs. A talk on Beauty Culture was given by Mary Kawakami. Miss Ora Jean Chip-man Chip-man was a special guest. Spring flowers made attractive decorations decora-tions and refreshments were served to 18 ladies. Attention Ladies Rhea Hurst Gardner, member of the USAC faculty, will give a lecture on "Home Decorating and Color Harmony" at the Legion Hall at 10 a. m. Friday morning, May 13. The public is invited. The lecture is being sponsored by the Junior Ladies Literary club. Ladies Literary Club "Bill of Divorsement," a three act Dlav. will be read by Miss Marie Allred, Lehi, and vocal numbers will be given by Walton E. Fouleer at the meeting of the Ladies Literary club this afternoon after-noon at the home of Mrs. George Meredith. Mrs. Reed H. Robinson will be assisting hostess. Art Exhibit A feature of the convention will be an exhibit by Miss Joan Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burton L. Adams, Pleasant Grove, who is making a name for herself her-self in the field of art. After attending the BYU and receiving a masters of art degree from the University of Utah, Miss Adams has studied at schools of art in Colorado and on the west coast. At present she is working in the field of designing In Hollywood. The exhibit will Include work in oil, pastels and water colors. Mrs. George Wcrthen, district president, will preside In the general gen-eral sessions. Other officers are Mrs. A. Frank Gaisford, American Fork, first vice president; Mrs. Lyean Johnson, Pleasant Grove, second vice president; Barbara Trane, Lehi, secretary; Mrs. J. Edwin Stein, Provo, corresponding correspond-ing secretary; Mrs. Dean Parks, Orem, treasurer; Mrs. Arvil Wad-ley, Wad-ley, American Fork, auditor; Estelle Fenton, Pleasant Grove, historian; Mrs. Sherman, Chrls-tenson, Chrls-tenson, Provo, parliamentarian and Mrs. Stanley Peters, American Ameri-can Fork, sergeant at arms. The theme of the convention is "Youth" and the program in several of the departments will be presented by youthful artists and students. Cadmus and Mothers Study clubs are hostess groups.
