Show PAGE FOUR THE LEHI SUN, LEHI, UTAH THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER' Sffl 9)F Alma Thayne Weds Texas Bride Mrs. Alvin Thayne entertained Tuesday afternoon at her home in compliment to her son Alma and his bride, the former Dorothy Doro-thy McBeth, who visited here for a week from Rapid City, South Dakota. Thirty-five friends called call-ed during the afternoon to extend ex-tend congratulations and meet the new Mrs. Thayne. A number of lovely gifts were presented the young couple. They were wed July 1st at Rapid City. Mr. Thayne entered the U. S. Army during his last year in high school here and was in the infantry for four years. He re-enlisted last April chosing the air-corps division, and at present is stationed at Rapid City. His bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. McBeth of Dallas, Texas. Armit-stead, Armit-stead, Pleasant Grove, became the bride of V. Keith Adamson, son of Mrs. David H. Adamson, American Fork, in a ceremony performed by Harold B. Lee, in the Salt Lake LDS temple Friday, Sept. 17. In addition to their parents the couple were accompanied to the temple by Mrs. Susan Taylor, Provo: Mrs. Lloyd Armlstead, Pleasant Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hemingway, Alpine, and Miss LaRue Hadlock, Salt Lake City. On leaving the temple the bride's parents entertained the party at a wedding breakfast at the Doll House. In the evening the Pleasant Grove First ward recreation hall was the scene of a lovely reception recep-tion with Mr. and Mrs. Armit-stead Armit-stead as hosts. Gladiolas, asters and ferns decorated the hall, and the wedding party received before be-fore tall candelabra with burning tapers, a giant heart of asters and glads with silver wedding bells. The bride was lovely in a gown of brocaded satin styled with sweetheart neckline leg-o-mutton sleeves, and a low fitted bodice. Her net veil had a rolled edge and was caught to a crown of rhinestones and seed pearls. Pink amaryllis surrounding a white orchid made up her bouquet. Mrs. Lowell Baxter, matron of honor, Mrs. Stewart Adamson and Mrs. Joe Thome, attending matrons, carried nosegays of white asters and pink carnations. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Armitstead chose a wine dress with sequin trim, and Mrs. Adam son, mother of the groom, was attired in a floral print with black background. Their corsages were talismen roses. Robert Hemingway performed best man duties. Mr. and Mrs. John Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Karl Adamson were receptionists. Karen Remington and LaVern Armitstead, nieces, received the gifts, and the gift room was in charge of Mrs. N. E. Nash, Mrs. Oscar Hall, Mrs. B. Cobbley and Mrs. Lloyd Armitstead. Armit-stead. Mrs. Ralph Jacobs presided pre-sided over the refreshments and was assisted in serving by Shirley and Delores Adamson, Alta Hall, Sharlene and Joan Taylor, Lola Adamson and Joyce Remington. Shepherd Shep-herd were united in marriage in the Salt Lake LDS temple Monday Mon-day morning by Robert L. Burton, Bur-ton, temple president. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Leland Beck, parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Evan A. Shepherd, parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Shepherd, Mr. and Mrs. Melbourne Whitby, all of Alpine, and Mrs. Ferron Sager, Salt Lake City. In the evening Mr. and Mrs Beck were hosts at a reception in the Alpine gymnasium honoring their daughter and new son-in-law. The gym was masked with an elaborate pink and white ceil ing and decorated with autumn leaves and petunias. The bridal party received before an improvised impro-vised fireplace with tapers in candelabra and flowers. For her wedding dress the bride chose slipper satin styled with bustle back, long train, a net yoke and lace bertha. Her net fingertip veil was caught to a tiara of orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of American Ameri-can Beauty roses and torn corna-tions corna-tions with satin streamers. Mrs. Lloyd Carlton, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and attendants were Miss Lois Shepherd, sister of the groom; Jewel Beck, a cousin, Mrs. Don Devey, and LaRene Beck, another sister of the bride. Kent Shepherd Shep-herd and Cheryl Lee Beck were trainbearers. Duane Shepherd acted as best man for his brother. During the bridal waltz the Musettes from Vineyard sang. Reid C. Burgess was master of L ceremonies and appearing on the program were Ferron Sager, Mrs. Dale Burgess, Mrs. Van A. Vance, Thayne Bateman, and Dr. Illif Jeffery. Dancing and refreshments re-freshments followed. Gifts which were received by Deanna Beck, Linda Alldredge and Janet Andrews, were in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Ferron Sager, Mrs. Omer Hall, and Mrs. Roby Forbes. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Beck, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Carlisle, Carl-isle, and Mrs. Lerve Beck presided presid-ed over the refreshments and were assisted in serving by Nola Carlisle, Jeanine Moyle, Kathleen Moyle, Kathleen Beck, Carla Beck, and Darlene Smith. Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Terry received the good wishes and congratulations of their friends at a reception in Firmage Hall Wednesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. Lyle Kirk, parents of the bride, the former Melba (Sam mie) Kirk, were hosts. The cou pie were married Sept. 9, at Elko, Nev. Dahlias, chrysanthemums and autumn leaves in artistic ar rangements decorated the hall and with lighted taper in can delabra formed a background for the wedding party. White crepe was used for the bride's wedding dress, fashioned with long bodice and a peplum which fell in the back to the bottom bot-tom of the floor length shirt. Her lace edged veil was fastened to coronet of orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of red roses and gardenias. Miss Joy Bickmore, Salt Lake City, was maid of honor, and attendants at-tendants were Miss Beth Adamson, Adam-son, Mrs. Morris Smith, Mrs. Willard H. Peterson, and Miss Jean Terry, sister of the groom. They carried, bouquets of gladiolas. gladi-olas. Appearing on the program were Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Junior N. Williamson, Beverly Bateman, and Don Tregaskis. Dancing followed fol-lowed with Francis B. Abel as master of ceremonies. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin E. DeLong were receptionists, gifts were received re-ceived by LaNyle Miller and Ha Richan, and Mrs. Hyrum Bolan-der, Bolan-der, Mrs. Lloyd M.
