Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dewey and son John, of Salt Lake City were Saturday visitors at the LeRoy Davis home. Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Anderson Ander-son returned Friday after a week's vacation in Yellowstone. They report a most enjoyable time, with ideal weather. They accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Elmer El-mer Carr and little daughter on the trip. She was accompanied by her grandchildren, grandchild-ren, Darwin, and Miss Sally Gaisford, Gais-ford, and her son, James A. Gaisford. They wil visit with a son, C. E. Gaisford, in Ingle-wood, Ingle-wood, and a grandson, Kenneth Gaisford, in Los Angeles. At Richmond, they will see Mr. and Mrs. Glen Holfeltz (Lila.) From Spokane, ' Wash., came Mr. Clarence House, former Lehi resident, a son of Henry House. He has been visiting with his brothers, John and Wilson House in American Fork. He spent Sunday here, with Mr. and Mrs. Shilref Powell, former neighbors in Canada. They motored thru Provo Canyon, stopping to visit Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Walker in Orem and Mr. and Mrs. Kel ly Giles in Pleasant Grove. Viva V. Taylor of Lehi com pleted two University of Utah nome study courses in Astronomy Astron-omy and Education during the past year. Other Utah County registrants in correspondence work include Mayme Wells, Or-em: Or-em: Mrs. Mary McCandless, PI Grove; Edgar Kolstad, Alpine, ciarK Brown, Grace jik, Mrs Esther Macmillan, LaRee Van Wagoner, W. Melvin Maness, William R. Smart, Jr., and Mrs. Sarah Teiford, American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Anderson were Sail Lake City visitors Tues day. They were accompaied by their daughter, Mrs. Herman C Goates. They were joined by Mrs. Harold W. Johnson, their daughter Mary. The group spent an enjoyable time togetner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ver non Anderson. Hospital Notes Mrs. Susie Whipple and Mrs Mary Comer remain at the hos pital this week. Mrs. Wm. Nye was admitted Tuesday July 13 for medical treatment. Everett and Marie Richens are the parents of a new daughter. born at the hospital Wednesday July 7. ; ' Harold and Lola Fox have a baby daughter, born Friday, Ju ly 9th, Mr. Joseph P. Corbridge, who received care at the hospital last Tuesday and Wednesday, was admitted for further treatment Julv 11. He suffered a broken leg at the rodeo grounds Satur day, July 3. He had attempted to climb down off the back of the bleachers. Alpine Friends Pay Final Tribute To Willard McDaniel Funeral services for Willard McDaniel 77, life-long resident of Alpine, were conducted in the ward chapel Tuesday at one o'clock o'-clock with Bishop H. Arthur Smith, in charge. Mr. McDaniel died at his home in Alpine Sunday Sun-day July 11 at 8:30 a.m. of a heart attack. Following the invocation by Earl M. Devey, a duet "Good Night" was sung by Mrs. Leon Wagstaff and Mrs. Ev H. Boley, accompanied by Mrs. Randall Shipley. A sketch of the life of the deceased was read by Mrs. Edward W. Burgess. John Whitby, a life-long acquaintance, ac-quaintance, spoke of the civic activities of the deceased, of his congenial disposition and fair-mindedness fair-mindedness in his dealings. Former For-mer Bishop Edward W. Burgess spoke of his devotion t ohis family fam-ily and discussed the gospel plan. Between speakers, Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth W. Morton and Kenneth L. Robinson, accompanied by Margaret Mar-garet Morton, sang "In the Garden" Gar-den" and as a closing number, Mrs. Van A. Vance, accompanied accompan-ied by her daughter, Mary, sang "I Have Read of a Beautiful City". The benediction was pronounced pronounc-ed by Fred Strong and the dedicatory ded-icatory prayer was given by Le-land Le-land Beck. Pallbearers were Wilbur and Norton McDaniel, Virgil and Ralph Smith, Stanford Stan-ford Healey, and Albert Lee. The son of George Washington and Mary Jane Taylor McDaniel, he was born in Alpine Feb. 23, 1871, the second child in a fam-ilv fam-ilv of seven.
