Fourth Ward Relief Society Following out the theme as suggested by the General Board, the Fourth ward Relief Society held its annual anniversary meeting Sunday night. Taking part in the exercises "Builders for Eternity" were Amelia Phillips, Phil-lips, Elodia M. Roberts, Delia Spafford, President LaRue Morton, Mor-ton, Marjorie Merkley, and Margaret Mar-garet Morton. Others taking part were Lucile Robinson, Mrs. Luella Smith, Janet Bowers, Donald Don-ald Conder and Mark Grant. Ladies Literary W. H. Callahan, Utah county welfare chairman, was the guest speaker for the Ladies Literary club March 4, at the home of Mrs. Walter A. Devey. Mr. Callahan discussed the state welfare setup and conditions in Utah which af fect the welfare of various groups. Annual election was held with Mrs. R. W. Clark being elected president to replace Mrs. John Myers. Other officers are Mrs. Jarvis Aydelotte, vice president; Mrs. Vern Walker, secretary; Mrs. John H. Miller, parlimentar-ian; parlimentar-ian; Mrs. Reed H. Robinson, organist; or-ganist; Mrs. W. R. Halliday, chorister, and Mrs. Clen Saunders, Saund-ers, historian. Refreshments were served with Mrs. Jesse M. Walker assisting hostess. Letter Carriers Auxiliary Mrs. Elgen Lee was hostess to the Letter Carrier Auxiliary, branch 426, Wednesday afternoon. after-noon. Mrs. Earl Crowther, Provo, president, was in charge. A review re-view of the book "Youth Passed By" was given by Mrs. C. A. Grant, Mrs. Lawrence Gibos, Provo, read the collect, and Mrs. Lee lead in community singing. Refreshments, with a St. Patrick theme, were served. Plans were made to make a quilt to be auc tioned at the state convention to be held at Brigham City the last week in May. The next meeting will be held in Provo the first Wednesday in April. Others present were Mrs. Franklin Davenport, Dav-enport, Mrs. William Oldroyd, Mrs. Cleve Brown, Mrs. Verl Dixon, Provo; and Mrs. William Holdsworth, American Fork. Utacen Miss Norine Fox, Lehi, gave an interesting review of the biography bio-graphy of Lilly Dache, "Talking Through My Hat," before the ladies of Utacen Literary club Monday night at the home of Mrs. Royal B. Gunnell. Mrs. Henry Hen-ry S. Chipman reported on the Women's Legislative Council. The collect was read by Mrs. J. Ralph Seibel and Mrs. Herman Parduhn entertained with 'piano music. Assisting hostesses were Mrs. Stewart A. Durrant and Mrs. David L. Greenwood. Literary League Mrs.. Elsie C. Carroll, one of Utah's best known poets, gave a talk on poetry and read poems to illustrate before members of the Literary League Monday night. Election of officers took place with Mrs. Stanford Briggs succeeding suc-ceeding Mrs. Stanford Wilde as president. Mrs. Melvin W. Grant was elected vice president; Mrs. Marlon Greene, secretary; Mrs. Eldon J. Miller, treasurer and Mrs. C. A. Grant, reporter. A report re-port on the last meeting of the women's Legislative Council held in Provo Saturday was given by Mrs. Marion H. Christensen.
