Prepare Stumps Now For Spring Removal "How can I eradicate a tree stump ? is a question which comes to the office of the County Agent frequently according to S. R. Bos-well, Bos-well, Utah County Agricultural Agent.- This question was submitted to Raymond Moore, Extension Forester, For-ester, who sent us the following information in-formation from the agricultural college : "The information on stump erad. ication is as follows: "In the autumn aut-umn bore in the center of the stump a vertical hole of 1 to IV2 inches in diameter and about 18 inches deep; put in 1 to 1 V2 ounces of saltpeter and fill with water, and then plug the hole tight. In the spring take out the plug and pour in about 10 ounces of petroleum petrol-eum and ignite. The stump will smoulder away without blazing to the very extremities of the roots, leaving nothing but ashes." Plywood In California More fir plywood is consumed in California, than any other state. Next largest consumer is Illinois, followed in order by Washington, 1 New York, Pennsylvania and Mich igan.
