Ray left this week by plane for Puerto Rico, where he is to represent the Max Factor Company. Mrs. Theo Pierson is home again, after spending the holidays in Salt Lake City with relatives. 189 W. Bert Hutchings, Bernell Bate-, man and Robert Fox have oeen; drawn for possible jury duty m the first term of the Fourth District Dis-trict court in 1947, along with fifty Utah County citizens. Mr. and Mrs. J. Freeman Royle entertained at a New Year's Eve party for a group of friends. Dinner, Din-ner, followed by games and a midnight mid-night lunch were enjoyed. Mr. Myron Burgess of Salt Lake City entertained at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Junius Banks, on New Year's Eve, honoring honor-ing her husband on his birthday. Games and luncheon were enjoyed. Miss Violet Porter entertained guests at a card party at the home of her sister, Mrs. Albert Carlton Saturday evening. Refreshments were served to the following guests: Cal Carter, Hal Housekeeper, Dale Backus and Gale Greenhalgh of Provo. Darlene Mortenson of Spanish Span-ish Fork, Sharon Vandenburgh and Herman Rogers of American Fork. Mrs. Laura Dunkley of American Fork spent New Year's and the day following with Mrs. Alice Stice. Miss Ellen Banks returned to school at Ogden Monday, following a two-weeks Christmas holiday spent with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Banks. . . . To Attend National Meet Supt. and Mrs. David R. Mitchell Mit-chell left Sunday for St. Peters- hurtr. Florida, where Supt. Mitchell will attend the annual meeting of' the National Federation of High Rrhonl Athletic Associations, Jan. 8-11. He is executive secretary of the Utah State High Schools Athletic Ath-letic Association. Traveling by way of Chicago, they plan to stop at Annapolis, Maryland, where their son, Lt. F. Richard Mitchell, is taking postgraduate post-graduate work. From there they will go to St. Petersburg via Washington, D. C. They expect to return in three weeks. With Our Boys TV5 Don C. Army, surprised his family and friends by arriing home December 23 to spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence 0. Holmstead. He left by plane December 31 for Seattle, where he made connections with an army plane bound for Fairbanks. T5 Holmstead has been engaged in testing euipment under rngia conditions for the army. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey M. Speer of bait Lake City were guests oi Korea. Mr. Speer a sister, Mrs. Alice Stice on New Year's Day. Don Holmstead and Keith Peterson, Peter-son, who are home from the U. S. Army, were speakers in the Gospel Message class in the First ward Sunday. Don has been stationed in Alaska, and Keith has been in Mr. and Mrs. Don Sims and two small children of Provo visited dur ing the week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sims and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stoker. . . Junius Banks was the speaker in the American Fork Second Ward Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace B. Gardner attended the New Year's Eve dance in Cedar Fort. Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Stoker and daughter, Karen, and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Schow of Granite spent New Year's with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stoker. Miss Margaret Worlton accompanied accom-panied the U.S.A.C. football team to the Raisia; Bowl at Fresno, California for the New Year's Day game, She . was with a group of ROTC sponsors who staged a precision pre-cision drill demonstration between halves of the game. She is a lieutenant. Mrs. Wallace Banks attended funeral services for her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Irene H. Smith, in Provo Monday. Mrs. G. S. Peterson Peter-son and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Thue-sen Thue-sen of this city also attended.
