Wooley of California, according to word received re-ceived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs L E. Russon. Pfc. Russon is stationed in the Panay Peninsula Penin-sula in the Philippines. He was first contacted by Chaplain Theodore Theo-dore E. Curtis, who recommended recommend-ed him for his present position. SERVING IN SAIPAN Sgt. Vernon R. Radmall is serving serv-ing with the Emergency Rescue Squadron with a flying unit in Saipan, his wife, the former Eloise Russon, has learned. He trained with the squadron at Mississippi before going overseas. RETURNS TO DUTY Harold Stoker has returned to duty in the South Pacific with the U. S. Merchant Marine, after visiting here for nearly a month with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stoker. His wife, the former form-er Helen Pett, who has been visiting visit-ing here with him, has returned to her home in American Fork. Harold is serving with the engineering engi-neering department of the Merchant Marine. FLIES HOME Elmer Sims arrived in Lehi Monday night from Columbia, South Carolina, making the trip by plane. .He visited Washington, Washing-ton, D. C, Chicago, Denver and other points of interest en route here. He plans to visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Sims, until the end of the month, when he will report to Fort Ord, California for reassignment. RETURNS TO BASE Pvt. Myron H. Burgess left Sunday Sun-day morning for Fort Lewis, Washington, where he is stationed station-ed with the Military Police of the U. S. Army. His wife and two sons returned with him, and plan to make their home at Richland, Washington. Pvt. Burgess has been visiting relatives in Lehi and Alpine for the, past two .weeks. report for duty until September 25. According to the July 26 issue of the "Yankee Boomer," official military sheet of the M. R. s., sent to the Lehi Sun, T3 Stice, an M. R. S.' telegrapher, tele-grapher, was awarded the medal for services rendered during the period from July 11 to September 4, 1944. The information states: "Stice assisted in establishment of a railway communication network, net-work, advised station agents on better maintenance methods, suggested short-cuts in telegraphy, tele-graphy, and saved valuable time by establishing an efficient method of receiving orders from train dispatchers." Presentation of the medal was made by Briga dier General Clarence L. Burpee. Mrs. Minnie. S. S. Sanborn. He had been visiting his mother for a few days, having flown here from the coast. LAVAR GRACE DECORATED VISITS IN LEIII Fireman First Class Richard Fox, who has been serving on a minesweeper in the South Pacific, visited with Lehi friends and relatives rel-atives Monday. He is a son of Roy Fox, now living in Salt Lake City. ARRIVES IN STATES RECEIVES EXTENSION ON FURLOUGH ' Sgt; " Dean Mitchell - received word this week that he is to re- Richard Johnson telephoned his parents from San Francisco Monday evening, informing them that he has arrived in the United States, and will be home as soon as possible. A Sergeant Major in the U. S. Marines, he has served serv-ed 31 months in the Pacific, and has participated in all the major battles since the first action in that area, returning home from his last stop, Okinawa. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Urban Johnson. John-son. His wife and little son, Richard Jr., are residing in Grand Junction, Colorado.
