Hardy spent the week-end in Lehl. Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Evans and three children of Salt Lake City visited with Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Evans on Sunday. Mrs. Lynn R. Webb and children, chil-dren, Robert and Lynda Kaye, and Mrs. Heber C. Webb were in Salt Lake City Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Tuttle of Sandy were Sunday guests of Mrs. Lauraine Coombs. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Adamson and son, Teddy, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Gardner. Arthur Lewis, who is employed in Lynndyl, spent the week-end in Lehl with his family. Mrs. Junius Banks, Mrs. Myron Burgess and sons, Allan and Merrill, and Mrs. Lauraine Coombs and son, Michael, visited in Alpine Monday evening. AMERICAN HEROES BY LEFF Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Wllles has returned to her home after spending the past month in California with her daughter, Mrs. James Davis and new baby. Robert RSberts of Hill Field visited with his mother, Mrs. Mary L. Roberts, over the week end. Mrs. George Hills and daughter, Carol, have returned to their home in Salt Lake City after visiting here a week with Mrs. Hills' grandmother, Mrs. Mary Bryant. s Mr. and Mrs. Edson Rockwell and family spent Sunday in American Fark canyon. Mrs. Wilma Douglas and son, Richard, of Salt Lake City visited in Lehi Friday and Saturday with Mrs. Douglas' mother, Mrs. Alice Stice. Miss Kathryn Hackett of Montrose, California, and Miss Donna Hackett of Salt Lake City were guests of their aunt, Mrs. Junius Banks Wednesday and Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Val Johnson and two sons, Charles and Grant, were in Vernon four days during the past week visiting with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Heber C. Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Webb and Mrs. Selena Hutchings and daughter. Donna, have returned to their home in Bountiful after spending the past two months here with Mrs. Josephine Cooper. Angus Gardner received word this week from his sister, Mrs. Rhoda Gardner Harrison, that she has been informed by the government that her son, Kermlt Harrison, has been reported missing miss-ing in action in Austria. Berry Hutchings of Bountiful left this week for naval training at San Diego. His wife, the former form-er Elora Fenn, is making her home here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Fenn. Mr. and Mrs. William Skinner received a telephone call from Caliente, Nevada Thursday in forming them of the arrival of a grandson, James H. Gottfredson III, born at noon August 10 to James H. and Faye Hutchings Gottfredson at the Caliente hos pital. Mother and baby are re ported doing nicely. This is the first grandchild in the Gottfred son family, and Mrs. Skinner's! 22nd grandchild. The father Is serving overseas with the U. S. Navy. Pvt Edward L. Rice, Long Beach, California, was on the receiving end of enemy hand grenade at Kwajalein Island. He removed hi weapon from its mount, ran forward and raked the Japanese front line trenches with fire. He has won the Distinguished Service Cross. We must earn victory; buy more War Bonds. V. S. Mrs. Edith Miller of Salt Lake City is a guest of Mrs. Alice Stice this week. Mr. and Mrs. Ray L. Alston and children, Harold and Celia, spent Sunday here with Mrs. Alston's mother, Mrs. Edward Southwick, Mr. and Mrs. Davis Boley and daughter, Elaine, of American Fork are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Woffinden and family on Monday. Martin and two children, Patty Jo and Curtis, of Phoenix, Arizona, Arizo-na, and Misses Daisy and Melba Whitsell of Sarah, Mississippi, who came here to visit the Salt Lake temple. A delicious dinner was served, after which the evening was spent in reminiscing and singing songs that their father had sung to them as children. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Powell, and Mr. and Mrs, Edward Fox. Mr. and Mrs. Vemo Larsen and daughters, Ainta, Nancy, and Kathleen visited In Lehi enroute to Chandler, Arizona, last week. Anita and Nancy remained here with the Stanley 'Taylor family while Kathleen accompanied her parents. The Larsens visited at Williams Field .with their son, Verno Ferris Larsen, and attended attend-ed his graduation exercises from the advanced flying school there. On their way home they were guests overnight of the Taylors and Mrs. Rachel Anderson. The bride Is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Maxwell of Mid-vale, Mid-vale, and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Comer of this city. Immediately following the ceremony, cere-mony, the newlyweds were honored hon-ored at a wedding breakfast at the home of the groom's brother Harold Comer, in Logan. A sistei Mrs. Barratt Chadwick of Sal Lake City, gave a dinner in the honor Monday evening. Pvt. Comer is a graduate of thi Lehi high school, where he was i member cf the high school banc for several years. He recentt graduated from the special motor and radio school at Fort Benning Georgia.
