Members of the Lehi High School orchestra are proud of the new addition they have made to the instrumentation of the orchestra. This week they have purchased and given to the school a viola. This is a valuable addition to the group and it gives the orchestra two violas to imporve their balance and ensemble en-semble playing. The group is fast becoming one of the outstanding out-standing school orchestras in Utah county. It can now boast a complete string section with many capable players. The purchase price of the viola comes largely from the profits of the Cherniavsky Concert, which the orchestra sponsored last March. Many hours of work were done by each student to put the project over. Miss Edna Smith is concert mistress and student manager of the organization. Recently they performed in the District Orchestra Festival at Pleasant Grove and received much favorable favor-able comment. Thirty-three members were selected to perform per-form in the All-District orchestra orches-tra of the Alpine School District. Many times this season they have appeared on programs in Lehl and they are doing much to contribute con-tribute to the cultural development develop-ment of this city.
