An ore body that has the earmarks ear-marks of adding a new steady producer pro-ducer . to the Park City mining region, has been opened in the New Park Mining company property, situated two miles southwesterly from Keetley, Utah. . , Since ore was encountered in the Mayflower; Tunnel January .'J, net profits of 5 the company have increased in-creased from $5,232 in January to $30,147 in April, according to a report re-port of the company. ' This is the first time that New Park has been able to operate in the black and comes after long and determined efforts to prove the southeastern end of the Park City district. New Park and its predecessor pre-decessor companies have " worked for over 25 years in an effort to develop a mine. During this time hundreds of thousands of dollars have been expended in development. develop-ment. Now that the mine has opened ore in commercial quantities, attention atten-tion of the management has been turned to more aggressive development develop-ment in an effort to perpetuate the life of the enterprise. Steady em ployment of from 50 to 100 men Is promised and a new source of industry in-dustry for . the state has been created. . . , Already a ; railroad company is considering Extension of its line from Keetley to the portal of the Mayflower tunnel in an effort to facilitate handling of the increased tonnage." Considerable new equipment equip-ment has been purchased for the new tunnel, including additional minecars, compressor and other necessary mining machinery. . In its development campaign the company plans to sound out the Pearl fissure at depth, uncover the Gold Queen fissure on the surface and development of the Laura claims. The Flagstaff mine, which is owned by New Park is being developed de-veloped under lease by another company. Development of a mine such as New Park in a new section, stimulates stim-ulates development of other property prop-erty in the surrounding area, thus adding to payrolls and industry. Many times this leads to the development de-velopment of additional mines and resources for the state. Large Crowd Enjoy Fox Family Reunion Two hundred and twenty-five descendants of Isaac W. Indian Wars Depopulated Ohie The Ohio country, once a rih hunting ground for 12,000 to 1S.C00 Indians, was virtually uninhabited for several decades about 300 years ago, according to Dr. Beverly W. Bond, University of Cincinnati professor pro-fessor of history. Ohio became a "po man's land" as a result of wars between New York state Iroquois and the Ohio Erie nation in the middle mid-dle of the Seventeenth century. The Eries were defeated and almost destroyed. de-stroyed. More tribes came to this area about 1680 seeking new hunting hunt-ing grounds. Doctor Bond said.
