Miss Eileen Glazier of Nephi is spending this week in Lehi with her aunt, Mrs. D. R. Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Mitchell and sons. Dean and Ralph, visited in Nephi Sunday with Mrs. Mitchell's brother, C. W. Glazier and family. On Memorial Day Mr. and Mrs. Junius Banks were dinner gtiests of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Cordner at Orem. Later they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Booth. On Friday Mr. and Mrs. Junius Banks entertained at a canyon party, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Mclntyre, who were recently married. mar-ried. Mrs. Mclntyre was formerly Miss Edith Marsh of Alpine. They left Monday for California. Mr. and Mrs. Clay Kelsey and daughter, Nita Lee, and Mr. Henry Krenke of Arthur, Nevada, spent three days here during last week with Mrs. Alice Austin. They came In from Nevada to attend the Kelsey Kel-sey reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Clark and son, Boyd, of Bachus spent Sunday In Lehi, visiting with Mrs. Thomas Clark. Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Goates 'and family of Centerfield visited here during the week end with Mrs. Clark and other relatives. Mrs. M. S. Lott and Mrs. J. W. Wing accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lott and two daughters to Walla Walla, Washington, Saturday morning, where they will enjoy a two weeks visit. Boley and son, Max, of Murtaugh, Idaho, are here visiting visit-ing with Mrs. Boley's father, John Woodhouse, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Wilcox of Rexburg, Idaho, spent Memorial Day here with A. L. Wilcox. Miss Mary Jean Johnson returned to Rexburg with them for a visit. Miss Virginia Austin returned home Sunday, after spending a month in Arthur, Nevada, with her sisters, Mrs. Clay Kelsey and Mrs. Rudolph Krenke. Mr. and Mrs. Harold W. Johnson and children of Salt Lake City were guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Anderson An-derson on Memorial Day. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson accompanied them to Springville in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Peterson and children spent Friday afternoon in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Dale Anderson Ander-son and children returned with them and visited here until Monday. Mon-day. Mrs, Herbert Bauer and son, Bobby, and daughter, Patsy, of Phoenix, Arizona, are here visiting with Mrs. Alice Austin. Mr. Bauer will join them here in a few days and they will leave for Moran, Wyoming. Wy-oming. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Larsen in company with Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Thompson and Dr. and Mrs. E. O. Thompson of Salt Lake City en-Joyed en-Joyed a trip to Zions National Park and to the Arizona desert during the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Moyle of Laramie, Wyoming, Mrs. Emily Smith of California, Mrs. Louis Whimpey of Santaquin, Mr. William Wil-liam Smith and Mercer Smith of Logan were visiting in Lehi during the week with Mr. and Mrs. David Peterson. Wednesday evening, members of the Lehi Lions club and wives attended at-tended a banquet and dancing party at the Hot Pots in Midway, given by the Heber Lions club. In the group were Dr. and Mrs. E. Fox returned home last Wednesday, after spending a few days In Magna with Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Morton and family. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Farquharson and family of Ogden visited in Lehi from Thursday until Sunday, as guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Bushman. Mrs. Glen Wilkinson and two children, Paul and Glenna, of Ida ho Falls, Idaho, are here visiting with Mrs. Wilkinson's parents, Mr. and Mrs, Elmer Jackson. Mrs. LeRoy Worley attended the Yesharah banquet at the Hotel Roberts in Provo Tuesday and also attended the graduation exercises of the Brlgham Young university. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Peterson and daughter, Walene, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, spent the forepart of last week here with relatives. They came on account of the death of Mr. Peterson's mother. Mayor and Mrs. Dean Prior spent Decoration Day In Spanish Fork with relatives. Monday evening they were visiting in Magna with Mr. Prior's sister, Mrs. William C. Reese and family. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil H. Peterson and daughter, Ruth, and Beth Peterson Pe-terson spent Monday in Salt Lake City. Ruth and Beth entered the L. D. S. Business college. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Christofferson of Salt Lake City visited here from Thursday until Monday with Mr. Christofferson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Christofferson. They also al-so visited with relatives in American Amer-ican Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lott and two daughters, (Rose IkRae and Stania, of Walla Walla, Washington, spent last week in Lehi with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Lott and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wing, and with other relatives. They came to attend the funeral services of Mr. Lott's grandmother, Mrs. Adaline Peterson. They returned to Washington Wash-ington on Friday. D. 1940, a special election will be held within the limits of the city of Lehi City, Utah County, State of Utah, for the pur pose of submitting to such qualified electors of said City as shall have paid a property tax therein in the year next preceding such election, the following question, to-wit: "Shall electric light revenue bonds of Lehi City, Utah County, State of Utah, In the amount of Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000), payable serially in equal annual Installments of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) each, commencing commenc-ing two (2) years from the date of the issuance thereof, solely from the net revenues of the entire en-tire electric light plant and system sys-tem of said City, and bearing interest in-terest at a rate not to exceed six per cent (6) per annum, payable pay-able semi-annually, Interest and principal to be payable at some duly designated bank or trust company, be issued pursuant to Chapter 22, Laws of Utah, 1933, Second Special Session, as amended amend-ed by Chapter 74, Laws of Utah, 1935, for the purpose of defraying the cost of improvements and betterments to the present municipal mu-nicipal electric light plant and system of said City for the purpose pur-pose of more adequately supplying supply-ing electric light and power to said City and the inhabitants thereof, the net revenues of the entire electric light plant and system after af-ter the construction and completion comple-tion of said improvements and .betterments to be pledged to the payment of said bonds?" Rhodes Peterson, 83, was laid at rest in the city cemetery last Wednesday afternoon, after-noon, following Impressive funeral services held at 2 p. m. in the Fifth ward chapel. Mrs. Peterson passed away the previous Sunday morning at her home here of causes incident to her advanced age. The love, respect and high esteem held for Mrs. Peterson and members mem-bers of her family in this community com-munity was made evident by the many beautiful floral offerings, the unusually large attendance at the services and the many kind words and deeds. Bishop's Counselor Randal Schow was in charge of the services. J. C. Wanlass offered the opening prayer and as the first musical number Mrs. Isabel Brown, Mrs. Lillian Knudsen and Mrs. Leota Peterson sang a trio, "Mother, The Word That Means the World to Me." A biographical sketch and a tribute to her grandmother was read by Phyllis Jackson, after which little Miss Rose LaRae Lott, a great granddaughter, sang, "In The Garden," Gar-den," accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Stanley Lott. Speakers who emulated outstanding outstand-ing characteristics in the life of the deceased, praising her as a citizen, a church worker, wife, mother and grandmother, and offered words of consolement to the bereaved family were Patriarch Andrew Fjeld, President Pres-ident Virgil H. Peterson and Bishop Ernest B. Garrett. Other musical numbers included a beautiful violin solo by Milton Brown of American Fork, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Mary Humphries; a vocal solo, "I Shall Not Pass Again This Way," by Mrs. Margaret Kirk-ham Kirk-ham and the closing number, "Christian's Goodnight" by the trio, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Knudsen and Mrs. Peterson. The closing prayer was offered by J. W. Wing. Interment was made in the city cemetery, where Bishop S. I. Goodwin dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were the oldest grandsons grand-sons of Mrs. Peterson, including Er-rall Er-rall Bone of Garland, Joseph M. Peterson of Burlingame, California; Chester Peterson, dell Jackson, Stanley Lott of Walla Walla, Washington, Wash-ington, and Gene Peterson. Biographical Sketch of Adaline M. R. Peterson Adaline Molissa Rhodes Peterson, daughter of Alonzo D. and Barbara K. Rhodes, was born in Lehi, Utah, October 11, 1856. She knew something some-thing of the hardships of early pioneer pio-neer life but always made the best of it as she was not one to complain. com-plain. She was baptized a member of the Latter Day Saints church at the age of eight and received the meager schooling provided in early days. She was married to Mathias Peterson Pe-terson on New Year's Day, 1872, in the old Endowment House in Salt Lake City. To this union was born ten children, three of whom, to gether with her husband have preceded her in death. She was a very affectionate mother and was always interested in the lives and welfare of her children, chil-dren, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a firm believer in cleanliness clean-liness in person, home, and surroundings. sur-roundings. It was a familiar sight to see her in her yard with a broom, or rake, making everything look tidy. She was sincere in her religion. She believed in paying her tithes and offerings. She was honest and upright and tried faithfully to live her religion. She was affectionately known to neighbors and scores of others as "Aunt Addie." The home of Matt and Addie Peterson was an open home where all who entered received re-ceived a hearty welcome. Addie was often spoken of as a good sport, one who always paid her own way and a little more. Young people have been heard to say how they liked to be in her company on a trip or at a party because of this sportsmanship. She has been a widow since 1929, but has been surrounded with kindly kind-ly and living children and friends to care for her and help make her happy, but In return has always given more than she would receive. After having been In poor health for a little over a year, she passed away very peacefully Sunday, May 26, at 9 a. m. She is survived by the following sons and daughters: Louis, George S., Julia Jackson, Rose Lott, Viola Brown, an of Lehi, Lorena Bone Garland and Wallace Peterson of I Idaho Falls, Idaho. Two sisters. Lavina Howes of Ma-grath, Ma-grath, Alberta. Canada, and Mrs Rosey B. Green of Twin Falls, Idaho; Ida-ho; also 48 grandchildren and 118 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Miss Maurine Peterson is spending spend-ing the summer in Gooding, Idaho, with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Ingersoll. Mr. and Mrs. Ingersoll have a new baby daughter, born at Gooding on May 21. This is their second child, the first one being a son. Mrs. Ingersoll Inger-soll was formerly Miss Georgeana Peterson of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan W. Clark attended the graduation exercises of the Utah State Agricultural college held in Logan Saturday.. Their daughter and son-in-law, Dean Wright and Nola Clark Wright, were among the graduates. Sunday morning morn-ing they attended the baccalaur-ette baccalaur-ette exercises of the college. Mr. and Mrs. Wright and Ward Clark returned home with them Sunday and Mr. and Mrs. Wright will en-Joy en-Joy a visit here at the Clark home. Mrs. A. P. Christofferson celebrated cele-brated her sixtieth birthday anniversary anni-versary on Friday, May 24, and in honor of the occasion Mrs. Carl Gunther entertained at a birthday party at the Gunther home. A program pro-gram was given and delicious refreshments re-freshments were served.
