Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ford and Mrs. Inez Peterson spent Monday visiting in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Glen Sabey spent Wednesday Wednes-day visiting In American Fork with her parents. Mrs. Jesse Webb of Provo spent Sunday in Lehi, as a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kirkham and Mrs. Inez Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph II. Kirkham of Garland spent the week-end in Lehi with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kirk ham and other relatives. PIONEER PROGRAM AT HIGH SCHOOL FRIDAY ' Pioneer Day will be celebrated at the local high school Friday, announces an-nounces Student Body President Dwaine Daniels. A big feature will be a special program at 1:45 p. m. at which , "Josh" West, former coach, Superintendent Super-intendent Mitchell, former principal of the high school, and others will talk. In addition several peppy numbers have been arranged. All alumni members of the high school are Invited to be in attendance attend-ance and join with the present students stu-dents In the celebration of the Pioneer Pio-neer Day. Mrs. Thomas Tims and daughter. Janice, of Centerfleld, visited In I Lehi Tuesday, as guests of Mrs. R. B. Worlton. Mr. and Mrs. George Wing spent Sunday visiting in Bluffdale with Mr. and Mrs. Val Spencer and children. FIRE DEPARTMENT CALLED OUT WEDNESDAY The local fire department was summoned to the home of Jesse N. Butt Wednesday about 1 o'clock, where a grass fire was burning and threatened adjoining property. The fire had spread Into the Hunger Hun-ger pasture and was rapidly gaining gain-ing headway, however, It was put out before any damage was done. PROFESSOR CUMMINGS WILL SPEAK IN FOURTH WARD The meeting next Sunday evening In the Fourth ward will be the regular reg-ular M. I. A. conjoint meeting and they have secured for the speaker of the evening, Professor Cummlngs of the Brigham Young university. In addition a splendid musical program pro-gram will be given. A large attendance is especially desired at this meeting. Miss June Hanson, who is attending attend-ing school at the U. S. A. C. at Logan, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hanson. Mr, and Mrs. Dean Capener and family of Garland and Mr. and Mrs. George Zimmerman and two sons of Gunnison were week-end guests of Mrs. Richard Norman. Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan W. Clark accompanied their son, Ward, and daughter, Nola, back to Logan Sunday, Sun-day, where they are attending school at .the Utah State Agricultural college. col-lege. Ward and Nola spent the week-end with their parents. Mrs. Dean Prior entertained at a prettily-appointed dinner, on S"un-day, S"un-day, complimentary to her birthday anniversary. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Boyack of Spanish Fork and Mr. and Mrs. Eastham Clegg of Springville. Mrs. Lena Worlton received a telegram tel-egram Sunday informing her of the birth of a baby son to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Worlton in Ocean Park, California. The baby was born Sunday. Sun-day. The Primary officers and teach ers of the Lehi First ward were entertained en-tertained at the home of Mrs. Glen Sabey last Thursday evening. They spent the time making flowers for the Primary operetta and later enjoyed en-joyed a social hour and delicious refreshments. re-freshments. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Pierce and Mr. and Mrs. Hebertson motored to Provo and visited with Enis Niel- son, who recently underwent an operation. Craig Crabb and Joe Lambert, students of the Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural college in Cedar City, have been chosen to take part in the Easter pageant in that city, according accord-ing to reports received. The boys have been fitted for costumes and are preparing for the big event. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Webb of Idaho Falls, Idaho, spent Friday in Lehi with Mrs. Webb's, mother, Mrs. Celestia Schow. They left Saturday for California, where they will enjoy a trip to the World's Fair in San Francisco and other points of interest. All of the children will participate in the operetta, which consists of a variety of singing, dancing and dialogue dia-logue parts interwoven into the story. Gay colored costumes will be worn by the children and the entertainment entertain-ment promises to be a very outstanding out-standing one. The affair is being given under the direction of the Primary officers offi-cers and an invitation is extended to everyone to attend the performance. P.-T.A. To Elect New Officers At a meeting of the P.-T. A. officers offi-cers held Monday afternoon at the high school building, a nominating committee of three members was chosen to nominate candidates for the .coming P.-T. A. election, which will be held on Thursday evening, Marh 30, in connection with the regular meeting of the organization. The nominating committee is composed of George S. Peterson, chairman; Dr. W. L. Worlton, and Mrs. Rula Dorton. The Parent-Teachers organization officers voted unanimously to contribute con-tribute $25 to the Lehi Child Health and Welfare council to. aid in the continuation of the health and welfare wel-fare program in our community. Mrs. Alfred F. Adams, president of the organization, presided over the meeting. . The Lehi American Legion Auxiliary Aux-iliary members were entertained at the home of Mrs. David I. Gardner Monday evening. A business meeting meet-ing was held, after which the group enjoyed playing progressive bridge and Chinese checkers. Later delicious de-licious refreshments were served. The high score prize at bridge was won by Mrs. Virda Peterson and the cut prize by Mrs. Marvel Peterson. Mrs. Josephine Cooper carried away first prize in Chinese checkers. Earl Smith attended at-tended a wedding reception in Magna Mag-na Monday evening, given in honor of the marriage of Miss Dorothy Taylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Arnold Taylor, and Mr. Wally Sadler, which was solemnized earlier in the day in the Salt Lake temple. The bride is a niece of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Oliver Kirkham was hostess to members of the Social club at her home on Thursday afternoon of last week. Bridge was played at small tables during the afternoon, prizes being won by Mrs. , LeRoy Lott, Mrs. I. L. Lott and Mrs. John Zimmerman. Guests were Mrs. LeRoy Le-Roy Davis, Mrs. Hettie Laird and Mrs. Silvester Evans. GOODWIN'S Mrs. Charles Crabb has been honored hon-ored by several socials during the past week-end in compliment to her birthday anniversary. Sunday she was guest of honor at a birthday dinner party at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Orren Winget in Payson. Owen Beck of Alpine underwent a goitre operation at the Lehi hospital hos-pital last Thursday. Joseph Whimpey was in the hospital hos-pital from Thursday until Monday for medical care. Mrs. June Davis received medical care in the local hospital from Wednesday until Saturday. P.T.A. Meeting Next Thursday A meeting of the. Lehi Parent-Teachers Parent-Teachers association will be held next Thursday evening, March 30 at 8 p. m. in the Lehi high school auditorium, officers have announced. , A special musical program will be furnished by the Lehi high school students and students of the Elementary Ele-mentary grades, and according to advance reports it will be a very outstanding one. New officers for the coming year will be elected at this meeting. A nominating committee has been appointed ap-pointed to select and contact Candidates Candi-dates for the election prior to this meeting. ATHENIAN CLUB ELECT NEW OFFICERS Mrs. A. K. Chatfield was chosen as the new rpesident of the Athenian Athen-ian club (ladies literary club) at the election held last Wednesday in connection with the regular club meeting. Other new officers are Mrs. David R. Mitchell, vice president; presi-dent; Mrs. R. J. Whipple, secretary; Mrs. H. B. Merrihew, treasurer and auditor. Outgoing officers are Mrs. Loda Bradshaw, president; Mrs. Robert Fox, vice president; Mrs. A. K. Chat-field, Chat-field, secretary. Mrs. Merrihew was retained as the treasurer. ADULT RECREATION GROUP ENJOY BICYCLE RIDE D's LUNCH The members of the Adult Recreation Recre-ation class report having enjoyed a bicycle ride last Thursday evening eve-ning in place of their regular class period. The group had a lot of fun and later enjoyed luncheon at the Watkins Ice Cream company. More special events are being planned for the future- by this group. Regular classes will be held tonight (Thursday) and next Mon day evening in the gymnasium.
