J. Colledge visited In Provo Sunday, guests of Mr. and Mm Joseph Bailey. Mrs- J. II MeLeod left for her home In California, after spending a few weeks In Lehi with relatives and friends. Mrs- Howard Thome and little daughter, Betty, of Ogden, are here visiting with Mrs. Thome's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Galsford. Mrs- C. P. Gilbert of Peru, Indiana, In-diana, has returned to her home, after a visit In Lehi with her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs- Katherine Yates. The M- I- A officers have arranged ar-ranged a program for the Sunday evening services in the Fifth ward. Mr. John Hutchings will be the principal prin-cipal speaker, his subject being "Hobbles.- Miss Utella Smith will sing and Miss Ruth Gardner will render a guitar selection. Miss Ida Thurman arrived home Friday after a trip to Washington and surrounding cities. She spent some time with Dr. and Mrs- Alvin Gilchrist and family at Bethleham City. Just out of Washington, where the Dr- is completing his interne work. She visited many places of interest and enjoyed a swim in the great Atlantic, Mrs- P. J. Ntelson of Mt- Pleasant is visiting relatives to Lehi Miss Juliet Lott was visiting with her parents Sunday and Monday. Mr- and Mrs. O. S- Peterson and family visited in Salt Lake City and Mrs. G- R. Taylor and family were in Salt Lake City Saturday Sat-urday on a pleasure trip- Miss Ellen Christofferson, Miss Utella Smith and Mr. Grant Christ- Miss Wlnnona Winn of Chandler, -rlzoaa, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Dan Thomas. Mrs. Vem Moyle of Alpine was a guest of her mother, Mrs- Dan Thomas, Sunday. Mr- and Mrs. Harry Page and family and Mr. and Mrs- Edner Peterson Pet-erson and family spent the weekend week-end in American Fork canyon. Mr. and Mrs. c L. The Primary officers of the Fourth ward entertained Thursday at the home of Mrs. I- R- Peck In honor of Miss Verland Fowler and Miss Jennie Patrick. Miss Erma Schow entertained at a social Wednesday evening at her home in honor of Miss Hazel Phillips, Phil-lips, who is. moving to Salt Lake City to make her noma. Games and refreshments were enjoyed by eighteen girl friends of Hazel. Mrs. Carl Berg and sons, Raymond Ray-mond and Frank, of Salt Lake City wot? visiting at the home of Mr and Mrs. W. A. Ford, Sunday Frank has just recently returned from a three years mission in Germany. Ger-many. Mr. and Mrs- John Brems, Mr- J. B. Smuin and daughter, Mazzelo. visited in Cedar Fort Saturday, guests of Mrs. Brems' mother, Mrs. Annre C- Wilcox. Mrs. Wallace Hebertson and daughter, Atha. and son, Lavol, and Mrs- Oliver Kirkham and daughter, uonna, and sons, Dean and Dale, left today (Thursday) for Denver, Colorado, for a vacation. The Third ward under the direc tion of the bishopric are holding a ward Jubilee, Friday, August 31st, in the ward amusement hall- The Relief Society have the refreshments in charge. An interesting program has been arranged and a dance will be given in the evening. Good music. Everyone is invited A. J. Phillips And Family Moving Mov-ing to Salt Lake A social in honor of Mr. and Mrs-A Mrs-A J. Phillips was given by the stake presidency and the high council coun-cil at the home of President and Mrs- A. Carlos Schow, Tuesday evening. eve-ning. Miscellaneous games and refreshments re-freshments were enjoyed. The Phillips family have been very efficient help in both the stake and ward and are moving to Salt Lake to make thalr home- Mr. Phil lips has been a member of the stake High Council since its organization, organ-ization, and has held several ward positions, which he has faithfully and efficiently filled. Mrs- Phillips has acted as President of the Relief Society of the First ward and has faithfully performed her task. A recep tion was held in their honor Satur day evening in the Third ward amusement hall. Miss Fay Beck, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Alma Beck, and Mr. Thom as Peck of American Forx were married Friday, August 24th, in the Salt Lake L- D. S- temple. Mr. Lorrln Goates of Lehi and Miss Luclle McCallister of Ameri can Fork, were married in tha Salt Lake temple, Monday, August 27. A reception was held at Amercan Fork Wednesday, August 29. Honoring the 75th birthday anniversary anni-versary of Mr. Charles Johnson, the family gathered at his home for a surprise and dinner. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. Vern Beck and family of American Fork, Mr. and Mrs- Melvln Reynolds and son, Junior, of Provo, and Mr. and Mrs-W- A. Evans. In the evening a social was held, where friends paid tribute to Mr- Johnson. Games and refreshments were enjoyed- In addition ad-dition to the family present, the guests were Mr. and Mrs. - James Tose of Salt Lake City, Mr- and Mrs. George Barnes, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Coates, Mr- and Mrs- George Ricks, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sun derland, Mr- and Mrs. John Ander son, Mr. and Mrs. C- F- Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Dean UdelL o Riflemen at Fort Douglas Sept. 1 & 2 WASHINGTON, D C Riflemen of Utah will gather at Port Douglas September 1 to 3 to compete for four of the national high-powered rifle championships and trophies of the National Rifle Association. The Utah shoot is one of about a score of regional and state tournaments tour-naments which have been sanctioned sanction-ed by the national association. All the national titles are being determined deter-mined this year, the same as in 1932 and 1933, on the basis of scores I fired by all competitors in state and regional meets instead of in one central national meet- The matches scheduled for the Utah shoot are the President's match, Navy Cup match, Coast Guard trophy rapid-fire match and the dwell trophy match.
