The Merry Cookers, 4-H club, met at the home of Mrs. A. E. Adams Monday afternoon. The making of sandwiches and cookies was demonstrated demon-strated to the group. Billie Capener of Garland returned re-turned to his home Friday, after spending a month here with his grandmother, Mrs. Richard Norman. Mrs. Norman accompanied him as far as Salt Lake City. William E. Purnett, a representative representa-tive of the Mergenthaler Linotype company, of San Francisco, California, Califor-nia, with his wife and daughter, were Lehi visitors on Wednesday of last week. They called at the Lehi Sun office. Misses .Eva Gunther and Nedra Lewis left Lehi Saturday morning by way of bus for Chicago, Illinois, where they will attend the World's Fair. They intend to visit numerous numer-ous other points of interest while in the East. Mr. and Mrs. Hershel Manning arrived home Friday, after a month's honeymoon trip in Nevada and California. Cal-ifornia. They visited In Carlin, Ne vada, with relatives and visited in San Francsco, Oakland and points of interest in California. They re port a wonderful trip. Mr. and Mrs. Shirt Giles and children of Los Angeles, California, are visiting in Lehi with relatives and friends. Mr. Giles will compete In the Archery contest, being held in Salt Lake City July 23, 24 and 25. Mr. Giles won the champion ship of Southern California and will compete In archery flight shooting shoot-ing in the Salt Lake archery tourna ment. His daughter. Miss Cleo Giles, holds the Junior champion ship in target shooting of Southern California. Wing arrived home Monday from Independence, Missouri, Mis-souri, where she has been visiting with her sister, Mrs. J. J. Turner. She was gone a month and reports a wonderful visit. Mae and Emma Strasburg. Melba Carter and Emma Sims. They presented the play In the afternoon for child ren and In the evening for the adults. Mr. and Mrs. C. Lu Johnson ar rived home Monday after a pleas ant vacation trip through California Califor-nia and Arizona and they report a wonderful time. Enroute to California Cal-ifornia they stopped at Las Vegas and Boulder City, Nevada, viewing the Boulder City dam site. They then continued their travels to Long Beach, California, where they spent five days viewing points of Interest in Southern California. They then continued their trip into Tucson, Arizona, visiting a number of friends there. Three thousand persons, Including the invited public, are expected to participate. Speakers will include State Ben ator Herbert B. Maw of Salt Lake, Mayor O. A. Smoot of Provo, Mrs. Maude B. Jacobs, county supervisor of Social investigation and Joseph And?rson, State President of the Farm Bureau. JULY 19, 19.U Mrs. Kate Allred Honored at Birthday Birth-day Party Mrs. Kate Allred was guest of honor at a social given in the Second Sec-ond ward Relief Society Hall Tuesday Tues-day afternoon, the event honoring her eightieth birthday anniversary. The party was given by her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Odessa Cullimore. Between ninety and ninety-five elderly el-derly lady friends and relatives were in attendance to honor Mrs. Allred. A short program was given consisting con-sisting of a vocal duet by Misses Hultau and Arlene Allred, accompanied accom-panied by Miss Betha Allred; two dancing numbers by Miss Moreno Allred and company and a variety of games and stunts. Prizes were awarded to the winnem The remainder of the time was spent in visiting and chatting and delicious refreshments were served. An enjoyable time was reported. In the evening members of Mrs. Allred's family entertained In her honor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney C. Allred.
