' Nintieth Birthday Celebrated Mrs. Martha Ann Fox Taylor, one of our oldest, beloved and respected citizens, one of our few remaining pioneers, cehbrated her nintieth birthday anniversary on Wednesday, July 11. Members of her family entertained at a birthday party Wednesday afternoon af-ternoon on Wines Park In her hon or. All of her children, grand chua- ren and great grandchildren and many of her relatives and friends attended the affair. A splendid pro gram was carried out, visiting en-Joyed en-Joyed and a delicious luncheon served. Mrs. Taylor Is the widow of Sam uel Rogers Taylor. She was born in Sheffield Yorkshire, England, July 11, 1844, and was the daughter of Isaac W, and Margaret Ann Slinn Fox. She became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints July 11, 1853, at the age of nine years. Durintr the vears 1857, 1858 and 1859 she lived with her parents in Scotland. wheTe her father was president of the Scotch mission. On May 1, 1860, with her parents she emigrated to Utah, crossing the plains with ox teams. They arrived in Salt Lake City October 6, 1860, and a week later they moved to Lehi where they made their home On November 1, 1861 she married Samuel R. Taylor in the old En dowment House at Salt Lake City. She has been an active worker in many lines throughout her, life. With her husband she labored, in the First Old Foifcs comnmiee iot many years. She has taken a prominent prom-inent part in civic and church affairs. af-fairs. She was a member of the First ward Relief Society Presidency for a number of years and has held numerous other church offices. At the present time she is a mem ber of the Snow Springs Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She is enjoying enjoy-ing good health and is a good deal "younger" than many of us, although al-though older In years. She is the mother of thirteen children six of whom are living as follows: Thomas Taylor, Lehi; Chas. S. Taylor, Ira Taylor, Springvuie; Mrs. Douglas Scalley, Salt Lake City; Leon Taylor, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Ida-ho, and Herbert Taylor, Salt Lake City. Sh3 has also thirty-seven grandchildren, fifty-seven great grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild.
