This is the first and great commondment. And the "second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Mat. 2237-40) ' And we may say on the observance of these two great commandments hang the blessings of peace, happiness and good will toward men. The past year has been one of the most successful since the organization of the Lehi Stake. Success in any endeavor depends de-pends on the degree of unselfish service and co-operation rendered rend-ered by those affiliated with the movement. , We thank all for your loyal support and untiring devotion to the great cause of rightousness. May we continue on faith-fally faith-fally living the Creator's great commandments that peace and good will may .not only be an ideal to work to but an ideal attained. Praying for the continued success of the Lord's work and may his peace and blessings abide in your homes, that you may have a Merry Christmas and; a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Sincerely, 1 LEHI STAKE PRESIDENCY. Our Heartiest Greetings to The People of Lehi We are grateful for the loyal extended us during this year that is fast drawing to a close. It is a time of year when we are all inclined to make a sun ming-up. If we have done well, praises may be due; but We all could have done better, could have rendered our community possibly greater service. - "We have been continually reminded of "depression" which has brought before us a hundred woes, everybody with his own and his share of the general difficulties. Through it all, how ever, we are still here, still mustering courage to meet the future, fu-ture, buoying ourselves for what may come. Out of all of this, one thing above all others is praiseworthy we are learning to help one another, to share, and to give. We have "A good place to Live" and -we want it to always be that. We have our own water system and our own Light Plant, though not paid for, we are surely headed in the right j direction. These two institutions serve us, tnrougn tne loyai support oi us an. There is no other town of like size in Utah that b so well provided with street lighting as Lehi, and this has been made possible by having our own Municipal Plant. The service rendered the homes of our people by this plant cannot be ex celled and at no greater cost. support this home industrypay promptly for the service rendered, rend-ered, it will not be many years until the plant will be free from obligation. Then we will be able to finance a great portion of the Municipal Expenses with the returns from this plant. Pay your light bills promptly and boost your own. We need not ask people to support the water system in the way of subscribing for water for that is not competitive in our community, but we do need more wholehearted support in jaying for this service by a great number of water users. " The charges made for this necessity jn our homes is very nominal, but to keep the system up water must be paid for. We solicit your support. In our administration of the City Business, we have endeavored en-deavored to do our best for the good of all. We are still human and prone to make mistakes, but we have tried to serve as we would be served and our hope is to so continu. . j May this Christmas be a cheery one and may the New Year bring greater prosperity and shower the blessings of health and happiness upon us all.
