' BEVERLY HILLS. Well all I know U Just what I read in the papers and what I hear over the Radio, and brother If that old Radio aint getting a beat ing, Tfc$ Pollti-clans Pollti-clans are giving that noor little old mlcraphone one of Its tough-est tough-est e a o a since Its birth. I was juBt sitting sit-ting listening in like millions et you have been an Fall. When the Country ought to be working its just listening. Even as that are fortunate enough to have a kind of a Job, why we knock oS te listen. We!! one I remember was Ogdea Mills. Ogden took ever the Treasury when Mr Mellon took ofer the business of introducing "Debu-Untteesw "Debu-Untteesw to George and Mary. Mea la America live, hope and dling money but Mills has impressed em tremendously. He can count tke Treasury money without looking at It longingly. Well he come out to California a few weeks ago and I wanted to see him and Mrs. Mills, but the Republicans Repub-licans were around him so thick, that I knew I would be dissinfeotiag myself for days afterwards, so I dident get to see him, and I dldent have a Republican registration eard so I couldent get la even to hear him. But I went home and got aim on the Radio. I missed 15 minutes of him, for Amos and Andy was on, but the minute Amos stopped singing sing-ing "Is I Blue?" why I west right over onto Cgden. He is a mild mannered man-nered man in private life but waea he gets on that diving board la front of that mlcraphone, why he goes hog wild. They used to call em Spellbinders. They ought to call em "Alrbnsters" now. But he had a lot of facts mixed la with the noise, and a lot of facts between growls. But here was the die trying to become Presidents. If t strange thing, he had the they cant make It, they accept the bobby prize and go in the Senate. But women just live, hope and die happy, If they can be presented at the Court of St James. Well as I was saying before, one of the ones I tuned la on the other week was Ogden Mills. He was out our way sprinkling some tacks in the Democratic road. Ogden is the first man I ever made a political speech for, and the last one. When j flt that i goi inrougn it no w ruumu . (And there Is dozens of em from there). At the time I made the speech I dident kaow that he was running on the Republican side but young Teddy Roosevelt asked me to go say a few words tor Ogden, and I have always been glad I did, for he has made good.. I always feel that he Is one man that I sponsored that lived np tO It ; , He Is awful rich and got an awful alee wife, and she Is a good fellow. She comes Into Jack Garners office and we had a political kowtow. Mills j Is a wealthy man and always has been, but he really tries, and does render some fine service to his Conn-try, Conn-try, and especially to his party. Even the Democrats say that he has made a fine Treasnra, not that the Democrats know much about ban- able man, and can make a lot more SDeeches if he will Just take it easy, The fellows that rant have to do it to cover no ignorance. Ogden dont have to do that. By the way you know the best speaker of all of em I heard so far this fall? Well It was the wife of Bob Shuler, that preacher that is ranning for the Senate out home. Most womens voice is not so hot over the Radio, but I tell you hers Is the most natural, and shes got a lot of plain good facts. MeAdoo looks like he ought to win out there. He has really done things. But old Bob getting in there messing It op for both the others, why thats liable to make a difference. Well It won't be long now! Just two more weeks toAlabis. O 19):. HERE'S WHO HE IS: 1 He is the man seeking the governorship in a campaign of misrepresentation misrepre-sentation and false claims. 2 He is making a desperate attack by innuendo on the unimpeachable record of Henry H. Bloodone of the finest, cleanest public officials who ever served the people of Utah. . 3 He is making a ridiculous attempt to blame his opponent for everything every-thing he (Seegmiller) has seen fit to criticize in the present state administration, ad-ministration, when, as a matter of fact, Mr. Blood has not been concerned con-cerned with matters outside the jurisdiction of the state road commission com-mission and no fair-minded citizen has expected him to be. - 4 Specifically, he seeks to discredit this upstanding citizen by connecting connect-ing him, in some mysterious way, with the state banking situation. This attempt is so false, unfair and unscrupulous as to amount to infamy. in-famy. . 5 He claims credit for the State Securities ("Blue Sky") Act of 1919. That bill was introduced by Representative Joseph E. Cardon, of Cache county. The legislative journal shows that Seegmiller's only activity with relation to writing this bill was a motion to amend by striking out one word. (Senate Journal, 1919, Page 274.) 6 He claims credit for raising the basis of mine taxation to three times the net proceeds, boasting that he .thus made the mines "come through" with increased taxes, indicating to his farmer listeners that he did something they wanted done. He claims this, when, as a mat- . ter of fact, IT WAS NECESSARY FOR THE PEOPLE TO AMEND THE CONSTITUTION to make the change. He didn't even introduce the resolution to submit the question to the people. All Things to All Men 8 How can any farmer, rancher or owner of real property consistently support W. W. Seegmiller? He is traveling over the entire state posing in the agricultural districts as "the friend of the farmer." Does his record prove him to be friendly to the farmer, rancher or owner of real estate? What does it show? In 1929, 1930, and 1931 W. W. Seegmiller was the paid hireling of the larger metal mines. His activity partly consisted of lobbying against the tax amendments which sought to lift part of the burden of taxation from the backs of the farmer. For this service he received $300 per month. He is the same man who traded off his own party for the sake of being be-ing speaker of, the Utah house of representatives, climbing to that seat on the shoulders of eleven Democrats. And now HE wants to be elected governor on the REPUBLICAN ticket! He is, in short, a man without justifiable claim to special fitness for the office. It is an EXECUTIVE position and WILLIAM W. SEEGMILLER SEEG-MILLER has demonstrated no particular executive ability of record in either public or private affairs. - On the Other Hand Henry H. Blood is an executive of outstanding ability, proven by his success in private business and by his enviable record as member and chairman chair-man of the state road commission for ten years. There's simply no comparison com-parison to be made between this modest gentleman who has every qualification qualifi-cation for the governorship and William W. Seegmiller. It simply can't be done! There's only one satisfactory answer ELECT HENRY H. BLOOD GOVERNOR OF UTAH Pld rolltlfal Adwrthewnt hr the Efflcfrngy im Govern mnt Club.)
