Wanlaas had dinner with the East Jordan Canal Board at Saratoga Tuesday. The board spent the morning Inspecting the Jordan River pumping plant and In the afternoon Inspected the plant of the'Provo Reservoir company. com-pany. C. to make their home, where Mr. Hayes Is employed em-ployed by the government. Relatives Rela-tives here received word that they hud arrived there safely and had enjoyed the trip very much. Mrs. Hayes was formerly a Lehl resident, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Win. S, Gray, and Is well known here. Lehi People Enjoy 24th Celebration Groups of children and grownups grown-ups as well met together In Wsnes Park at I o'clock on July 24 and participated In games, sports and races of every nature. Some of the main game given included the three-legged race, gunny sack race, squaw wrestle, foot raees,tug-of- war, wheel barrow race, nail driving contest and the crab race. The children's races was a very interesting feature. Prizes were awarded In many of the events. In the early morning hours James Smuln and his old time string orchestra serenaded every pioneer In the city and many have remarked since that time that this feature was enjoyed and appreciated very much. These activities were carried out under the direction of ward Sunday School superlnterMencies, the committee com-mittee being composed of Vern Webb, Second Ward; Abe Lossee, First Ward; Lelen Wardle, Third Ward; Max Rothe, Fourth Ward and Freeman Royle, Fifth Ward.' Three Injured When Car Is Forced Into Canal Mr. and Mrs. James Reed of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Reed's son, Jean Vale of Oregon, received Injuries when their car waa forced from the state highway Into a large canal by a passing automobile about one mile north of the point of the mountain Tuesday evening about 7:00 p. m. According to reports received Mr. and Mrs. Reed and Mr. Vale were traveling north, a truck was parked on the side of the bridge and a car traveling south came along and forced the Reed car into the ditch. Mrs. Reed received a severe cut on her head and was badly bruised. Mr. Reed suffered cuts about his head and arms and Mr. Vale was; cut under the chin and on the hand. Passing motorists brought them to the Lehl hospital, where there in juries were treated by Dr. F. D. Worlton. Mr. and Mrs. Reed and Mr. Vale were Just returning mm Oregon and were on their way to Colorado, when the accident occurred. The luggage from their car was thrown several feet from the car. The wind shield was broken and the body of the car was badly bent up. o Missionary Parents and Wives Meeting Post poned Until Friday Night All members of the Missionary Parents and Wives association are urged to take notice that the regu lar meeting, scheduled to be held Thursday evening, July 80, will be postponed until Friday evening, July 81, and will be held in the Second Ward Relief Society room. A good program is being arranged. Every member is cordially Invited to bo In attendance. The First Ward 4-H Club called the Tinker Club met at the home of Miss Leon a Okey on July IS, with Miss Okey and Miss Bertha Clark acting as hostesea. The girls patch ed and plan were made for their outing. Dainty refreshments were served. Monday their club outing was held at Saratoga. The morning was spent In bathing and luncheon was served at 1 o'clock. The afternoon was spent In games. Miss Erma Sehow entertained the club on July 21. Bride-to-be Entertains At Trouseau Tea Charming and gay was the Trouseau Tea, given by Miss Fern Gardner at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James H. Gardner, Sunday afternoon between the hours of I and 1 o'clock p. m. The dining room waa beautifully decorated In a pink and white color scheme and summer flowers were usl in the decorative scheme. Assisting Miss Gardner in the receiving re-ceiving line were her mother, Mrs. James H. Gardner, Miss Lois Gard ner, Mrs. R. C. Piston, Mrs. Virgil Goates, Mrs. LeRoy Gardner, Mrs Joseph Nielsen and Mrs. Hamilton Gardner. The little Misses Pauline Gardner. Both young people .have numer ous mends in their respective localities who wish them much Clark Family Reunion Held At Saratoga The descendants of the late Wm. Clark, a pioneer of 1853 and one of the early settlers of Lehi, held a family reunion at Saratoga resort Monday evening. Close to one hundred and fifty members of the family were in attendance. At 7:30 p, m. a delicious supper was served and the following program pro-gram was given with Mrs. Ina Evans Tletjen as Master of Ceremonies. Cere-monies. James Clark, vice-president of the association gave an address ad-dress of welcome. G. A. Wall gave a toast to the committee, three ln-strumentals ln-strumentals were given by Mr. Stanley Clark and his son, Kieth, and an original poem was given by Mr. II. C. Evans, paying tribute to grandfather Clark. After the program a business meeting was held with James Clark presiding. . The same committee of last year was appointed by acclamation accla-mation to act during this year and three new members were appointed. The officers now include: William W. Clark, president; James Clark, vice-president; Thomas Clark, treasurer; trea-surer; Sylvln W. Clark, secretary; committee members, John Zimmerman, Zimmer-man, Ina Tletjen, Verl Clark Goates, Edith Evans, Ora Clark, Wheeler Timothy, Abble Lambourne or Wallsburg, Ethel Ross Watklns, S. Ross of Salt Lake City; Marlon Ross of California; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Tletjen and Bruce Nielson of Santaquln. o Lehi Defeated By Salem Team The Lehl Farm Bureau baseball team journeyed to Salem on July 24th and were defeated 10 to 5. Monday evening Spanish Fork and Orem, who were tied for second place In the county league played the tie off and Spanish Fork defeated de-feated Orem 10 to 1. At the present time Salem Is in the lead, Spanish Fork is second Lehl and Orem tied for third, Pay-son, Pay-son, then Lakeshore and then Benjamin. The Lehi team will play two games during the homecoming cele bration. On August 13 they will play Salem and on August 14 they will play Orem. HOSPITAL NOTES ' Mrs. Oliver Roberts was removed to her home ... Tuesday from the hospital. ..-' Melvin Miner of Vineyard under went an operation for appendicitis at the Lehl hospital last Wednesday Wednes-day morning. ..". Mrs. C. E. Elklngton of Salt Lake City, was in the Lehi hospital Friday Fri-day night and Saturday receiving treatment. Clyde Brown had his tonsils re moved Saturday morning. Mrs. J. W. Phillips of American Fork underwent a major operation at the hospital on Sunday. ir. Anarew JLossee Is In the hospital receiving treatment for a broken knee. He waa kicked with his horse. Lynn Webb Returns .. Home From Mission Elder Lynn Webb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Heber C.Webb, returned home Wednesday, after being thirty months in the Netherlands mission. He is looking fine and we welcome him back to our "lll8t- Elder Webb labored for five months In Hoorn, five month i in Amsterdam, two months In Leiden, eight and one-half months in Apeldoorn, four months in Rotterdam Rotter-dam and was then transferred back to Amsterdam for four months, ue presided over the Amsterdam district dis-trict during the last four months or his mission and was president or Apeldorn and Rotterdam branches. Lynn reports that the Nether-lands Nether-lands mission Is one of the finest in the world. There are quite a number of organized branches there and are at the present between three and three and one-half thousand saints. The Netherlands are only about one-seventh as large as Utah; He states that the Netherlands mission Is progressing and there is a splendid group of people there. He was released on July 2 and traveled by way of airplane from Rotterdam to Antwerp, Belgium, where he visited with Elder Ralph Goodwin. He reports that Ralph is doing some splendid work and is president of the Belgium district at the present time. He visited at Paris, France, and the Colonial exhibition ex-hibition there, where every colony is represented. On July 9 he set sail on the S. S. Roosevelt and landed In New York on July 17, here he visited for two days and then came through to Ohio, and visited relatives for three days. He visited In Denver, Colorado, and then came home by way of the southern route. it- Lynn says he Is glad to be back home, although he enjoyed his mission mis-sion very much. He also says that he appreciated the Lehl Sun, which was sent to him weekly, a great deal. Deputy John Evans, who investigated said that the thieves entered the mill through the front door by prying off the latch. They handed the flour through a small window on the west side of the mill, where it was evidently loaded into an automobile. This Is the third time within three weeks that George G. Robinson Robin-son has been the victim of thieves. Three weeks ago thieves broke Into the flour mill garage and stole a ure irom the truck. A week later they entered Mr. Robinson's home ana stole a gold watch. Officers are investigating, but as yet have found no definite clues.
