He Is expected home some time next week. The many friends of Miss Betty Hewitt, graduate of Park City High. Class '37, now attending the Wasatch Academy at Mt. Pleasant, Utah, was elected editor of the Orange and Black, the academy year book. A clever young lady is Miss Betty. Howard Nelson and his orchestra will be featured at two dances to be given at Peoa on Saturday, November 5th, and on Friday, November 11th. Astle, of Salt Lake, was selected the past week out of 300 applicants to an assistant teaching position at Purdue University in Layette, Indiana. Mr. Astle received his B. A. and M. A. In chemistry at the University of Utah, and taught three years at the Park City High school. He will receive a doctorate from Purdue in the spring Miss Agnes Farnsworth, our popular county treasurer, was Injured by a fall while attending a political meeting in Salt Lake last Saturday evening, neceS' sitating treatment at the Holy Cross hospital for several days. The ladyjs many friends will be pleased to learn that she has completely recovered and Is again at her desk at the county seat, Preliminary work was started excavat ing for the Memorial civic center build lng Monday morning. Two days was lost, however, because of the breakdown of the steam shovel. This morning an other shovel came up from Salt Lake, and the additional excavation for the basement Is now moving along rapidly and many tons of dirt Is being moved hourly. With the continuance of fine weather footings for the new structure will soon be In place. While In Evanston, Wyoming, Monday of this week Elmer C. Lee had the pleasure of meeting Mr. and Mrs. Sam Barrell, well known and prominent re sidents of our city thirty-five years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Barrell have made their home In Wyoming since leaving Park City, but like all former Parkites still have a warm spot In their hearts for "good old Park City." They desired to be remembered to their many Park City friends. Mr. Barrell Is the nominee for city constable of Evanston, on the Republican ticket this year and expects to be elected.
