Burning, scanty or too frequent urination uri-nation may be a warning of some kidney or bladder disturbance. You may suffer nagging backache, persistent headache, attacks of dizziness, getting up nights, swelling, pufriness under the eyes feel weak, nervous, all played out. Just look at this list Grace Moore got her professional start in one and Frances Faye stepped from one into a part in a picture with Bing Crosby. Alice Faye, Eleanor Powell, Ar-lene Ar-lene Judge, Grace Bradley, and Martha Raye all were night club en- t r j v 1 Arlene Judge. tertainers. Olympa Bradna also appeared ap-peared for a time in one, on her way from Paris to Hollywood. Even though Marlene Dietrich isn't under contract to any motion picture company at the moment nobody no-body needs to worry about her financial fi-nancial future; she's signed a radio contract that will pay her $5,000 a week. Lots of money! But recently re-cently when she had her pictures taken by her favorite photographer at Paramount she had to pay for them because she no longer works there. And that's the sort of thing that screen stars mind most awfully. aw-fully. viz Shirley Temple has put her hair up and is losing her teeth it's not unusual for her to report at the studio, "Well, I lost another tooth today." Fortunately she's young enough not to have it mean tragedy. In "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm" she hasix songs, and you'd hardly recognize the dear old story, it's been so changed to make a good vehicle ve-hicle for her. But the change was worth it; the best box office attraction attrac-tion in pictures is at her best. You'll see Errol Flynn in "The Singing Cop" also, before long, and you'll hear a soag that he wrote, "Tahiti Lullaby," which is used in the picture. The man can do anything any-thing ! Those Walt Disney "Mickey Mouse" programs have gone so well that the sponsor has renewed the series se-ries for 2G weeks they're on NBC's Bed network on Sundays at five-thirty. five-thirty. But Mickey will have a vacation va-cation during the summer, starting May 15. Andy Donnelly, Jr., who plays Junior on the "Dick Tracy" programs, pro-grams, sets a good example to the thousands of youngsters who wouldn't miss that broadcast for anything. Though he lives in New York and goes to school there, he gets over to Ridgefield, N. J., every Sunday to go to church with his family. Charles Bickford tried his luck in a stage play and it failed, so now he's back in Hollywood, Holly-wood, hoping for better luck next time, and making a picture for Republic, Repub-lic, "Gangs of New York," with another old-timer, James C r u z e, directing, and Nancy Carroll scheduled to play the heronie if she's willing. Bickford's return to the screen will recall the stirring stir-ring days of his ear lier successes as a forceful he-man. i L Charles Bickford ODDS A'D ESDS Eddie Cantor lee tured recently at Columbia university; he gate an excellent talk on "comedy on the air," after remarking that it was ironical jor a man uho'd never been through grammar gram-mar school to be lecturing at a univenily . . . Richard Gordon, who plays Sherlock Holmes on the air, loved to play "cops and robbers" when he uas a kid and aluuys was one o the robbers . . . Deanna Durbin was given a valuable stamp collection collec-tion not long ago, but knows so little tibnut stamps that she didn't appreciate it she'd rather collect match books . . . Care should be taken to do a neat job. In some cases where the boards have warped and pulled away from the floor joists it is necessary to renail the boards. In doing this, the heads of the nails should be countersunk and the holes filled with a paste made by mixing sawdust and waterproof glue. ENVOY FOR FAIR ft 'J Eucharistic Congress for Quebec fx H' n Cardinal Calls Worshipers to Catholic Rites Cardinal Rodrique Villeneuve, archbishop of the ancient see of Quebec, who recently announced that the National Eucharistic con gress would be held in Quebec, June 22 to 26. In his announcement, Cardinal Car-dinal Villeneuve noted that the locale lo-cale of the congress was well chosen because "Quebec is the cradle of the faith in Canada and North America." Pilgrims from every province in Canada and every state in the United States will journey to Quebec to take part in the sacred rites. : Pictured in a "Hear Te, Hear Ye" pose is Betty Lynn, who hails from Fort Worth, Texas, and is one of the beauties of the Casa Manana night club in New York city. Just now she is all excited about her appointment as one of the 49 goodwill good-will ambassadors who will publicize the 1939 New York World's fair in every state in the Union.
