OOO Miss Evelyn McGinley, a popular Utah Power & Light ReducSd Rates In Effect Residential and farm customers of the Utah Power & Light company began April 1st receiving benefits of the new cheap electric service rate ordered last December. Reductions affect customers in Utah and Idaho and bring the average home rate to about 3V3 cents per kilowatt hour, compared with a national average of 4.43 cents per kilowatt hour. "Under the new schedule the home rate will be as simple as A B C," company com-pany officials explained. "There will be but one schedule for all residential and farm users in the territory served by the Utah Power & Light company's Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho interconnected system, regardless of the uses they make of their electricity. electri-city. "In the past different schedules have been used for service supplied customers custom-ers having refrigerators and those having hav-ing ranges and water heaters, and again those using only lighting service and small appliances. These various schedules have now been discarded and all residential resi-dential and farm .customers in the territory ter-ritory designated have been placed on one simple rate." The new schedule for all domestic consumers in the territory mentioned, is as follows: For the first eleven kilowatt hours in any month 90 cents (Minimum charge.) For each of the next twenty-five kilowatt kilo-watt hours, 5 cents. For each of the next 164 kilowatt hours, 2.5 cents. For each additional kilowatt hour 1.5 cents. ' v The charge based upon the number of rooms has been eliminated. The reduction to home and farm customers cus-tomers is part of the $350,000 saving ordered by the public service commission to become effective during the year. The savings affecting all classes of power users will bring total reductions since December 1933 to approximately $850,000. Mr. Wm. Jones, Mr. and AIR MAIL WEEK From May 15th to May 21st Is set apart for Air Mail Week, and Postmaster Green Is arranging to make It a "boost week" for Park City. The intention is to prepare a "catchy cachet," to stamp on the envelope of every letter mailed out of Park City during the entire week of May 15th-21st. A cachet (pronounced "ka-she") is a distinctive seal or slogan, expressive of a particular characteristic of a city or community to be stamped on a letter, etc. In an effort to get the best slogan possible appliable to our home city, Postmaster Green solicits slogans from any or all our citizens the one selected to be stamped on every outgoing letter during Air Mail Week. It will prove a great advertisement for Park City for It will be read by many thousands of peo ple in all parts of the world. Everybody suggest a suitable slogan leaving same at the postofflce or The Record office. Junior C. of C. To Meet Monday Night The local Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce will meet next Monday night at 7:30 in the Orange Blossom to near a report of the year's activities from the retiring president, James Gwilliam. Representatives of businessmen, civic clubs and city government wiii be present pre-sent to hear and participate in the discussion dis-cussion of the activities of the club. A very definite request will be presented to the community for co-operation and support to this young man's organization, organiza-tion, which has contributed many good things to Park City. A report will be made by the nominating nom-inating committee naming officers for the coming year. It is expected that Mr. Gwilliam will make request for support from younger men of the community whether they are associated with commercial work or not. In the Fireman's hall. If you are Interested in the pastime be there. Annual Meeting Held Last evening at the I. O. O. F. hall, the annual meeting and election of officers of the Park City Fish and Game Association was held. The election of officers resulted as follows: H. V. Peterson, president; Harold Har-old Leahy, vice president; L. L. Thompson, Thomp-son, trustee, 1 year; Ed Kidder, trustee, 2 years; Clements Hansen was elected by acclamation for the office of secretary. The guests of the- evening were Tom Argyle, of the law enforcement division of the state association; H. Crump, chief deputy, and Sheriff Holbrook, oi Davis county. The visitors gave short talks on wild life and the aims of the state fish and game association for the coming year. Roy Lambert, of Kamas was also in attendance. It was decided by the members pre sent to change the name of the associa tion from the Park City Fish and Game Association to the Park City Wild Life Federation. A membership drive Is now under way and it is hoped all local sportsmen will Join, as projects are contemplated oy tne officers that will be of distinct value to them. Burlin, a beloved lady who made her home in Park City for many years in the long ago. Death came to Miss Burlin at the home of her nephew's sister, Mrs. W. D. Harrison, at Omaha, Nebraska, where deceased had been visiting for several weeks, she being stricken by a heart attack. Deceased came to Park City with her parents in the middle '80's. The lady was prominent in church affairs. She was the manager of the Bell Telephone company com-pany in Park City, a position she held during the big fire of 1898. Later Miss Burlin served two or three terms as city recorder. From Park City deceased went to Ogden and served as city auditor for years. Moving to Salt Lake she again held a responsible position with th? telephone company of that city. In later vears Miss Burlin made her home in Provo with her sister, Mrs. Anna B. Marvlck, where she has a host of friends and admirers. During her long residence in Park City Miss Burlin was beloved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was of an unassuming nature; the acme of kindness and gentleness, always lovable and ready to lend a helping hand in time of need a true Christian lady, and a devoted, dependable friend. Her life was cheerful, beautiful, helpful and her passing on is sadly mourned, not only by her loved ones, but by a large circle of devoted friends who knew her real worth. Impressive funeral services were held in Provo Wednesday.
