However, unlike the solo victory over Lone Peak last season, the Vikings had to beat both Timpanogos (64-51) (64-51) and Orem (50-44) in back-to-back games before they could punch their ticket tick-et to this week's tournament tourna-ment at the E'Center in West Valley City. The Vikings finished the regular season tied with Orem and Timpanogos for the third and final playoff spot from Region 7. The tie came about because Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove and Timpanogos both lost on the final night of region action. The Vikings fell 71-61 to Mountain View, while the T-Wolves T-Wolves were defeated at home by the Lone Peak Knights. Pleasant Grove played a very good game against Mountain View ... for three quarters. Then the wheels fell off in the final eight minutes as the Bruins outscored the Vikings 28-18. 28-18. Despite Pleasant Grove's Chad Evans and Nate Clement both scoring six points apiece in the fourth quarter, Mountain View took advantage of Viking miscues that resulted in a 10-3 run to open the final period. Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove wasted little time breaking open the game and leaving little doubt that they would survive to play Orem.
