Classes begin the week of March 15 at the library, 30 E. Center Street. The theme for preschool story time is "Some Bear Over the Rainbow." The classes, for children ages three to five, are filled with stories, songs, activities and crafts featuring bears. Choose Tuesday, Wednesday Wednes-day or Thursday at 10, 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. for a fun-filled 40 minutes each week. Class size is limited. A registration fee of $5 and a current library card are necessary for registration. The Wee Read class is for children ages 18 months through three years. It is held every Friday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and noon. Each class lasts about 30 minutes and features stories, sto-ries, songs, chants and finger fin-ger plays. Parents are encouraged to sit on the story rug with their toddler. Eight weekly themes include birthdays, clothing, birds, Easter, farms, bath time, bed time and colors. This class is free, but registration is a must because of limited space. Music and Movement classes are held on Monday at 9, 10, 11 a.m., 1 and 2 p.m. These 35-minute classes class-es are for children ages 3 to 6 and feature music making, mak-ing, movement, chanting, listening and singing. Registration fee of $5 and a current library card are required for registration. registra-tion. The Young Adult Book Group meets every Thursday Thurs-day at 7:30 p.m. Students ages 12 to 18 who wish to enjoy some new and exciting excit-ing books are invited to join with librarian Linda Bethers for a fun-filled evening. While children are attending classes, parents may wish to "check out" some of the library's other resources. In addition to books, the library provides large print books, ESL classes, bilingual materials, six local and national newspapers, news-papers, magazines and encyclopedias. The computers provide Encarta, Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, research opportunities, Mitchell Auto Repair, biographies and much more. , The audiovisual department depart-ment provides videos and DVDs; books on cassette or CD.
