Board of Education President JoDee Sundberg said the board will go back and talk about the situation. "We're hearing what you're saying, we're not offended, we're listening," she said. "That's why we're here." Andrea Forsyth, a member of the Board of Education, said the district is trying to keep population at the same level in all junior high and high schools. "We strive to keep the schools balanced to help keep program levels at American Fork High School," she added. Lambson said the district needs to not only look at the intellectual needs of students, but at their emotional needs, too. Forsyth said this year it's . only 27 students transferred from Pleasant Grove High School, but down the road it could be 70. She has also spent time at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake, the University of Utah Medical Center, and the Children's Hospital at Stanford. The medications she has taken over the years have also had their effects, at one time causing osteoporosis and weakening of her bones to the point where she couldn't could-n't carry a backpack to school, and even the danger of being bumped could cause damage to her bones. "It can be veiy stressful at times. It can be scary for siblings sib-lings and friends." said her mother, Nancy. Holly's condition has created creat-ed a strong bond within their family. "Asthma puts life in perspective. It's not a given that we will all grow old together." Nancy said. "It makes our family a lot stronger, and causes us to be more grateful." Throughout her life, Holly has had help from some very important people. In addition to her family, Dr. Henry Yeates has treated and watched over Holly for the past eight years. He has encouraged her to continue to reach for the stars, and is always involved in her latest accomplishments. Recently, with Yeates' encouragement, Holly accepted accept-ed the role of being a spokesperson for the American Ameri-can Lung Association of Utah. As a spokesperson, she has been featured in radio and television tel-evision commercials for the association of Utah. These commercials are currently cur-rently being run on KSL Radio and its affiliate stations, sta-tions, and Fox 13 News television. televi-sion. Her parents are also the Utah County Family Team chairs for an upcoming Asthma Asth-ma Walk that will take place on June 14 in Sugar House Park. The walk is sponsored by the American LungAsso-efation LungAsso-efation of Utah, and the students stu-dents and faculty of I lea " ant Grove Jr. High will be involved with the walk. She has set a goal to attend the University of Utah on a gymnastics scholarship, and to make the 2008 U.S. Olympic gymnastics team. While at college, she plans to work towards a medical degree. She wants to become a doctor and help find a cure for asthma. As she looks ahead to each day and moves towards accomplishing these goals, Holly holds her head up high, and continually reminds herself her-self and others, "I might have asthma, but it doesn't have me."
