She was active in the S Church through the ars and served in many ferent capacities. Serving pianist for the Primary d Relief Society was one her favorites. She loved cooking and gar-"mg. gar-"mg. but her greatest love sewing for her grandchil-tn grandchil-tn and great-grandchil-. She created many cher-i cher-i dresses, quilts, pillows, Hawaii hangings. Louise was a cheerful, frU'ig person. She spent "itless hours serving her and those around her. Rafter her health failed, r 05 She haH many loves in life, including her grandchildren, horses, music, and sewing. She is survived by her husband Jay Richins, of Lehi; four sons and three daughters: Michael (Paula) Shawn (Jessica), Jason (Kaisa), Tiffany (Dylan) Young, Natalie (Colby) Harris, Har-ris, all of Lehi; Gordon (Joyce), Irvine, CA; Melissa (Ty) Metcalf, Saratoga Springs; ten grandchildren; brother and sister, Grant (Donna) Gordon, Doris (Clyde) Bair, both of Lehi. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, broth-ers, and two sisters. Funeral, Saturday, November 30, 2002, at 3:00 PM, in the Lehi First Ward Chapel, 200 S 200 W. Friends and family may call at the Wing Mortuary, 118 E Main, Lehi, Friday evening 6-8 PM and Saturday Satur-day at the church, 1 hour prior to services. Interment, Lehi Cemetery. She is survived by three children: Lyman (Norma), Pleasant Grove; Grant (Joyce), Glendale, AZ; and Linda (Don) Dodge, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove; 18 grandchildren, grandchil-dren, 61 great-grandchildren and 9 great greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Two sisters also survive her: Edna Williams and Carol Swensen. Her parents, her husband George in 1991, a sister, a brother, and a great-granddaughter preceded pre-ceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpanogos Third Ward Chapel, 520 North 400 East, Pleasant Grove. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, Mortu-ary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Chris and Heather from Heritage Hospice for their loving care over the last six months. Obituaries Melvin B. Wengreen Melvin Bowtell green, age 72 of passed Wen-Lehi, Wen-Lehi, away Nov. 22, 2002, at his home of natural causes. He was born March 25, 1930, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Carl Arthur and Elva Rosella Brown Wen-green. Wen-green. He married Beverly Allen Bowers at her parents home in American Fork, Utah, on December 1, 1950. Their marriage was later solemnized in the temple on January 24, 1964. After several years of marriage, they were divorced. He then met and married Diane Adele McGee on Feb. 20, 1993, in Springville, Utah. Melvin served in the U.S. Army, 52nd Airborne Division Divi-sion during the Korean War. He worked at Geneva Steel for 30 years and was a bee keeper for over 25 years. He loved nature, the outdoors, out-doors, and especially hunting, hunt-ing, fishing and camping. He was a member of the teamsters union and during periods of unemployment, Verda Peterson Verda Anderson Peterson, Peter-son, loving mother, grandmother grand-mother and great-grandmother went home to her Heavenly Father on Nov. 21, 2002, at the age of 82. She was born December 27, 1919, to Wallace and Mary Berry Anderson. She married Douglas Peterson on May 28, 1941, later solemnized sol-emnized in the San Diego LDS Temple. Survived by sons, Thomas (Carol) Peterson, Cedar Valley; Kurt (Barbara) (Bar-bara) Peterson, West Jordan; Jor-dan; a daughter, LaNett (Dave) Franchow, South Jordan; sisters, Lois Cook, Ora Peterson, and Reva Blackhurst; 14 grandchildren; grandchil-dren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Handyman Gift Idea! In fact, we have called them again to install a new furnace at my mother's house. Replacing our old furnace was the best thing we ever did. We went from Wc efficiency to 90 Cr efficiency. Our gas bill dropped significantly. We like Gunthers because they do a good job and their work is guaranteed. Phyllis was born on May 23, 1938 in Laramie. Wyoming to Grace Phyllis Hassell Allphin and Nylen Lee Allphin. The Allphin family settled in Lovell where Phyllis first worked in nursing at the Lovell Hospital. In 1958 Phyllis and her family moved to Orem. She attended BYU where she received her nursing degree. She practiced as a registered regis-tered nurse at Utah Valley Hospital and the Clark Clinic. She retired from nursing after being the supervisor of surgery admissions at American Fork Hospital. After she left nursing, she made her home in Fillmore, Utah. (Laurie) Meadows; her thirteen grandchildren; and her siblings, Nylen Lee (GaiDAllphin Jr., Elizabeth (Norman) Oliphant, Jessie (Gordon) Farr, Marilyn Orchard Miller, Robert (Julie) Allphin, David (Linda) Allphin, Bonnie (Lee) Caldwell, and Donovan Dono-van (Jeri) Allphin. Services were held Monday, Mon-day, November 25th in the Hillcrest 1st Ward in Orem, 1450 South 800 East. Interment was in the Orem City Cemetery.
