The over-I over-I winners were Bryan Lindsay (below left) and Julie Mosier (below right). 645 C 1 'i SSS y':::: S:; Tennis champs announced Results have been announced for the 1999 Boyer's Auto Mall Strawberry Days Tennis Tournament held last Saturday. In Division A, Cory Boyer and Sean Walker finished first, followed by Jimmy Smith and Zeke Toteland. In Division B, the winners were Brandon Wilkins and Steve Francom. Brett and Wade Francom took second place. In Division C, Scott and Kyle Clayson finished on top, with Tyler Healey and Alex Benedict following. A total of 24 doubles teams entered the tournament. A round robin was held first to determine which division the teams were placed in, followed by a single-elimination tournament. Garrett followed up his defensive work with singling in Mike Sorenson and scoring on a passed ball during the bottom of the second. In the top of the third, Lone Peak socked Pleasant Grove with a double play. Zach Watkins' one-run single improved the Knight lead to 4-0 4-0 in the bottom of the third. Story dazed the Knights by turning up a double play that ended the third. Opening the fourth with a double, Scoville came home on a balk called against Burgess. The pitcher made up for the violation by retiring Shoell for the third out The Knights scored four beginning with Josh Otteson's one-rim single in the bottom of the fourth. In the fifth, Chance Scott's two-out double created a serious seri-ous threat to the Knight lead. Second baseman Nate Graves grounded out Carter before the Vikings could get a rally going. Taking over pitching duties in the bottom of the fifth, Derrick Green gave up a single to Kevin Wood, but held the Knights scoreless the next inning. During the sixth, Nate Bullock homered in Josh Brady. Amos Burgess answered with a two-run homer of his own in the bottom of the sixth. However, after the sixth, Sam Burgess didn't let the Vikings score any more runs. The Vikings had better luck on June 18. Although the Panthers secured an 8-2 lead during the first 3V2 innings, they could not hold the momentum. momen-tum. The Vikings tied the game at eight on a six-run rally in the bottom of the fourth. Pleasant Grove pulled ahead 9-8 on a fifth-inning run. The Vikings staged a seven-run rally in the sixth to get the game called that innning.
