Just ask impview what happens 'hen you do not give your t 11 against the Bruins. Mountain View has five slid starters, all averaging ight or more points per ame. The Hansen twins, jjteather and Hollie, are , fading this team to what 'Tiould be their third traight title. Orem (8-1) is trying to )ro.ose the gap on the Bruins. So far, she has been equal to the challenge. She has solid complementary comple-mentary players in Heather Keith, Marsha Heimuli and Aubrey Stay. To make a run, Orem has to control the ball. The Tigers' sole loss was due to an 18 turnover performance against Dixie. If they could have had some of those shots, this team could still be undefeated. Timpanogos (6-4) will go as far as Brynne Nelson can take them. At 16.3 ppg, she represents repre-sents 37-percent of the T-Wolf T-Wolf offense. Kristen Louder contributes about 6.6 ppg as the team's second leading scorer, no one else is hitting for more than five points per contest. To make a run, Timpanogos has to have some production from other players because sooner or later defenses are going to double- and triple-team Nelson. Mangum (PG) 10.5 Ca. Johnson (PG) 10.4 Pleasant Grove's duo of Candace Johnson and Tina Mangum are trying to lead the Vikings (3-5) to wins. In the team's five losses, the pair have combined to score just 14.6 ppg, down from 41.3 in PG's three wins. To make a run, Johnson and Mangum need help carrying car-rying the load but they will need help. More than likely, the Vikings will take their lumps in a very tough region. Lone Peak (6-4) started the season 5-1 but has lost three of their last four. The Knights use defense for wins. Only once has an opponent scored more than 45 points and seven times, they have held teams to under 40. However, even the best defense needs some offense. To make a run, Lone Peak has to find a leader on the offense. For the Knights, beating Timpanogos will be their best shot (and probably proba-bly their only shot) of getting get-ting into the state tournament. Photo by Martin Harris It is hard to think Mountain View could be even better than last year but with the addition addi-tion of Ashley Cheesman (50, above) and Ashley Henry to the starting lineup, this team should be even tougher.
