Show AMERICAN FORK CITIZEN Page 5 WHO'S WHO AND WHAT'S HAPPENING Frozen Yogurt Junction allows do-it-yourself treats Thursday, August 14, 2008 Barbara Christiansen NORTH COUNTY STAFF There's a new place in American Fork, selling an old-time favorite. The Frozen Yogurt Junction offers the cool favorite with a twist customers get to make their own concoctions from six daily flavor offerings, either in a waffle cone or a cup. To that, they may add 33 or more different dif-ferent toppings. Those include 24 of the candy, can-dy, cereal, cookie and nut variety, va-riety, six different fresh fruits everyday, and raspherry, chocolate choc-olate and caramel syrup. When the customers are done with their creations, they take them to be weighed and pay 38 cents per ounce for their concoction. On a recent day the fresh fruits were mango, blueberry, pineapple, pine-apple, peach, strawberries and mixed berries. Area residents may thank the economic downturn for the chance to make their own yogurt yo-gurt sundaes. Owner Corey Ixiing said he had been buying, repairing and reselling houses, but with the change in the economy and the market downturn, he also made a change, "I saw that there was no yogurt yo-gurt place in American Fork," he said. "I saw a need and looked to fill it." He opened the store's doors in mid-June and has been happy hap-py with the response. "Most people who come in love the idea," he said. "I am not aware of anywhere else in Utah County that offers self serve. Everybody loves the idea of making it the way they want it."
