American Fork RECKLESS ENDNAGERMENT - A 28-year-old woman was arrested ar-rested for reckless endangerment of a child. Officers responded to a report of a baby that had been crying continuously for approximately approxi-mately two hours. Officers observed ob-served the woman suspect, holding hold-ing her baby upside down by one leg. The baby was crying and was covered in mud and grass. The woman was in an impaired state and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The baby was taken into protective custody. UNATTENDED CHILDREN -A 33-year-old man was arrested for leaving his children unattended unat-tended in a vehicle, while he was at a local business. UNATTENDED CHILDREN A 37-year-old woman was arrested ar-rested for leaving her children unattended in a vehicle, while she went into a local business. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM A 21-year-old man was arrested for DUI, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, parapherna-lia, The man was stopped for a traffic violation and was under the influence. DUI A 56-year-old man was arrested for DUI. The man was involved in a single vehicle accident ac-cident where he hit into a cement mail box. The man was under the influence alcohol. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - An 18-year-old man was arrested for criminal mischief. The man intentionally ran over a bicycle, damaging it. f RETAIL THEFT - A 31 year-old man was arrested for retail theft after he attempted to take several CD's from a local business. ALCOHOL OFFENSE - A 21-year-old man was arrested for intoxication. The man had been inside a local business and appeared ap-peared to be harm to himself because be-cause of his intoxicated state, so employees called the police. DUI - A 24-year-old man was arrested for DUI after he was stopped for a traffic violation. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE - A 35-year-old woman was arrested for unlawful detention, assault domestic violence and protective order violation. The woman went to her sisters' residence, and got into an argument with her, accusing accus-ing her of taking her drugs. The suspect detained her sister and then threw her to the ground and pulled her hair, demanding her drugs back. The sister has a protective pro-tective order against the suspect. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE - A 64-year-old woman was arrested for domestic violence criminal mischief in the presence of a child. The woman became upset at her adult daughter over some re-modeling she was doing. The suspect took a cane and started hitting the re-modeled door, causing damage. This occurred in front of several children. ALCOHOL OFFENSE - A 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old man were arrested for open container. The driver was stopped for a traffic violation and both the driver and passenger had an open beer in the vehicle. UNATTENDED CHILDREN A 26-year-old woman was arrested ar-rested for leaving her children unattended in a vehicle while she went into a local business. Cedar Hills VEHICLE BURGLARY - Officers Of-ficers responded to a report of a vehicle burglary. The vehicle was entered and a checkbook and day planner were taken. RUNAWAY - Officers responded respond-ed to a report of a 14-year-old runaway, who returned home a short time later. E-MAIL SCAM - Officers responded to an e-mail scam where the recipients received an e-mail threatening that she would be harmed if she did not send the suspect money. This is a common com-mon Internet scam that has been circulating for the past year. Eagle Mountain DUI A patrol officer observed a vehicle passing in a no passing zone marked by double yellow lines. The officer initialed a traffic traf-fic stop and smelled alcohol in the vehicle. The driver failed field sobriety tests. The driver was booked into the Utah County Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol and the traffic violation. Fairfield FIRE CONTROL - Numerous agencies responded to a fire at the Cedar Valley Landfill on July 13. Utah County Sheriff's Office officers responded to control traffic and insure public safety. Fire fighters and equipment from Cedar Fort, Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Sara-toga Springs and Lehi battled the hot blaze. Fire fighters were able to keep the fire away from a large fuel container that was an explosion explo-sion risk. They put out the fire by early July 14. Lehi TRAFFIC OFFENSE - A woman wom-an was cited on July 3 for not having her eight-month-old child in proper restraint. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM A juvenile was cited into Juvenile Court on July 4 for possession of marijuana, possession of pornography, and theft. OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE On July 5, an individual agreed to come to the police department to post bail but did not come. He r I fUl Bill likes the local sports coverage. TRAFFIC OFFENSE - A driver was cited with failure to yield, open container and littering on July 1. Pleasant Grove VEHICLE BURGLARY - A wallet containing a credit card, a checkbook and the owners' driver's driv-er's license was stolen from the a vehicle on July 9 after the front passenger window was smashed out while the vehicle was parked in the Pleasant Grove swimming pool parking lot. Also reported, the credit card was used at Wal-Mart Wal-Mart in Lindon about 20-minutes after the wallet was last seen. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - Officers Of-ficers responded to a burglary at Grovecrest Elementary School on July 12. No items were noted missing. Some vandalism did occur. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM - Officers responded re-sponded to a noise complaint on July 13. Contact was made at a residence where an individual was talking on the telephone. As the officer left the apartment, he saw another balcony in the same area where people were more loud than the first. Contact was made at the second apartment. Individuals were arrested for illegal il-legal consumption and marijuana possession. DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS - On July 7 a traffic stop was made on a vehicle for having a passenger pas-senger side brake light out. Upon initial contact with the driver, alcohol could be smelled. Field tests were made and the driver was found too impaired to drive. Driver was arrested for DUI and the vehicle was impounded. DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS A man was arrested on July 8 and charged with DUI, alcohol restricted driver and open container. con-tainer. A woman was arrested and charged with evidence tampering tam-pering for concealing the open container. Both individuals were released on citations. DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS -On July 10, officers responded to the area of State and Center on a report of a possible DUI driver. An arrest was made. DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS While on patrol on July 11, an officer noticed a vehicle speeding speed-ing on 1100 North. When lights were activated, the vehicle driver attempted to avoid the officer. The vehicle was stopped and the driver found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested for DUI and other charges. VEHICLE BURGLARY - On July 10, an individual reported an X-box, $20 and a Hewlett Packard phone stolen from her home on three different occasions. Victim suspects a nephew where she has been living temporarily. Police Po-lice were unable to make contact with suspect. THEFT - On July 11 an individual individu-al reported a theft of medication from her residence. THEFT - On July 8, an Individual Individ-ual reported the theft of a Little Giant expanding ladder. Saratoga Springs AGGRAVATED SEXUAL ABUSE Police responded to a local residence on the report of sexual abuse by an adult man allegedly engaging in repeated unlawful sexual contact with a minor girl. The girl's mother reported the abuse. Following a brief investigation, the suspect was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE -Saratoga Springs police officers, responded to the Jacob's Ranch subdivision on the report of a 2-year-old boy who was discovered discov-ered facedown in the family's backyard pool. Police officers arrived at the scene and began life-saving procedures in less than two minutes after the initial call. They were joined by medical crews from the Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain fire departments depart-ments and a neighbor who is a Provo City Firefighter.
