I Michael Ashton (Lone Peak): 1 Ie's in the No. 2 spot in 5A behind Levi Ball of Viewmont in the pole vault but has a challenge chal-lenge to make up the 1-foot -3-inch difference in their present best marks. I Ie's about five inches ahead of the next competitor in the classification and is the dear favorite fa-vorite to win the region crown in this event. I Daniel Litchford (American Fork): Ranked No. 6 in the 5A shot put right now, he's in good position to medal but is unlikely to catch top-ranked Bryce Hall of Davis in the event. Girls I Angela Kaplar (Lone Peak): Last year's state tit lest in the 110m hurdles is the favorite again, holding the No. 1 ranking rank-ing by posting the best mark ( 14.61 seconds) recorded in Utah so far this season. She's also a top contender in the 300m hurdles, where she is listed No. 2 behind Alyssa Hansen of Hillcrest by about a quarter of a second. I Lacey Cramer (Lone Peak): The Stewart sisters of Spanish Fork have the top spots sown up in the sprints, but Nachelle is also top-ranked in the 800m, where Cramer is No. 2 in 5A. Her best mark is about five seconds behind be-hind Stewart's at this point. Cramer is also ranked No. 3 in 5A in the 1600m but trails the top times by a much wider margin in this event. However, she is the favorite to win the region title. I Cami Richan (Lone Peak): It's unlikely that anyone will challenge chal-lenge state record holder Ada Robinson of Viewmont in the high jump, but Richan is currently cur-rently ranked No. 3 in 5A and is just two inches behind the girl in front of her. I Autumn Robertson (Pleasant (Pleas-ant Grove): Another contender in the high jump, Robertson's mark is two inches behind Richan 's best effort. Forward Continued from Page 7 Pioneers (5-0-1, 9-1-2) and the Knights (6-1-0, 6-5-2). The outcome of this contest will certainly have an impact on the region race and may ultimately ul-timately determine who gets the crown. SOFTBALL I Timpanogos at American Fork (3:30 p.m.): The Timber-wolves Timber-wolves (2-5, 10-7) and Cavemen Cave-men (1-6, 9-10) are both fighting fight-ing for their playoff lives and should have plenty of motivation motiva-tion to try to get this one. Monday, May 5 BASEBALL I American Fork at Lehi (4 p.m.): The Cavemen need to win this series to give them the best possible berth in the playoffs. They will have to get some help from others to move up. I Timpanogos at Spanish Fork (4 p.m.): The two-game series between this pair will likely determine which one gets the higher seed into the state tournament. I Lone Peak at Pleasant Grove (4 p.m.): These games look a little more challenging challeng-ing now than they did a week ago. However things turn out on Thursday, the Knights overlook the Vikings Vi-kings at their own peril. Just ask the Dons. Tuesday, May 6 BOYS SOCCER Pleasant Grove vs. Timpanogos at Lehi (7 p.m.): Depending on how Thursday's Thurs-day's games turn out, the Vikings (3-3-1, 84-1) could be in a position to overtake the Timberlwolves (4-3-0, 5-8-0) for third place with a victory here. x . . , ....-. . SOFTBALL I Lpne Peak at American Fork (3:30 p.m.): The outcome' of this contest could make or break either team, but also might produce a tiebreaker situation that will need to be settled by a play -in. I Pleasant Grove at Lehi (3:30 p.m.): The Vikings probably prob-ably can't catch Lehi for second place, but a victory here would give them a boost heading into the playoffs, The Pioneers will also be looking to take some momentum into the post -season. immm ISllM.tKAKCl home auto life business hi i ; v.
