The driver had also violated vio-lated an ignition interlock device. The vehicle was impounded. Eagle Mountain DUI DRUGS - A deputy initiated initi-ated a traffic stop when he saw a car missing a tailliyK The deputy smelled marijuana smoke and took the driver into custody when the driver failed field sobriety tests. The driver was booked into the Utah County Jail on charges of driving under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana, and open container. VANDALISM - The restroom at Silver Lake Amphitheater was vandalized with spray paint graffiti graf-fiti along with defacement of city signs and vinyl fences in the area. Police are asking residents to be aware of and report suspicious individuals or groups congregating congregat-ing around walls or signs, and notice no-tice discarded spray paint cans. The complainant complain-ant got the truck's license plate number and was willing to sign a complaint. The driver was cited for unsecured load. LEIII WARRANT - An individual was arrested on Jan. 7 on a warrant and cited for expired registration, suspended driver's license and no proof of insurance. JUVENILE PROBLEM - Five juveniles were cited for truancy on Jan. 8. MAIL TAMPERING - Com plainant found an open envelope in her mailbox containing social security numbers on Jan. 8. Report Re-port was filed for possible future problems. WILD ANIMAL - On Jan. 12, a child was bitten by a wild mink. The animal was captured for quarantine, observation and test ing. TRAFFIC OFFENSE - A man was cited for parking more than 12-inches fiom the curb on Jan. 11. ALCOHOL OFFENSE - Four individuals were cited for illegal consumption on Jan. 11. VEHICLE BURGLARY - On Jan. 10, an individual reported someone broken into their vehi cle and stole several items including includ-ing a leather jacket, MP3 player iPod, socket sot, tire gauge, bag, cellphone charger, Cricket cellphone, CD player and disc changer, miscellaneous discs, sunglasses, pocket knife, Sprint cellphone and purse. ACCIDENT - Following 8 Jan. 9 accident, a man was booked into the Utah County Jail on DUI with priors and alcohol restricted diivei violation. WARRANT SERVICE - A woman was cited on Jan. 6 for illegal consumption. A man was booked into the Utah County Jail on wai rants. Another woman was hooked into jail on public intoxication and having a pre-scnption pre-scnption without a prescription. The city prosecutor will review the case for possible charges of assault. The suspect had left prior to the report. BURGLARY - On Jan. 16, a residential res-idential burglary was reported Several items were stolen. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - Of ficeis responded to a Pleasant Grove residence for a report of possible fraud on Jan. 16. The victim reported someone opened a package out of his mailbox with a knife but didn't take anything, only opened it. The package was a DVD. It is possible the package was opened by a machine sorter at a post office by accident. The victim was referred to contact the postmaster of the incident. A report re-port would be filed at that time. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - On Jan. 19, police responded to a report of criminal mischief. The reporting party said an individual he had hit earlier spread blood all over his van. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM - On Jan. 16, an officer of-ficer spoke with a woman about her neighbor possibly using a narcotic drug in his driveway. She was advised the information would be passed on to other officers of-ficers and extra patrol would be in the area. The woman was also advised to contact police when the narcotics were being used. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM - A vehicle was stopped for speeding and no license li-cense plate light on Jan. 16. A K-9 was used around the vehicle and he vehicle was searched. Marijuana Mari-juana and three Lithium pills were found in the vehicle. The driver was arrested and more marijuana was found on him. He was issued a citation for several charges and later released. THEFT - On Jan. 17, officers responded on a report of a man witnessed loading prepackaged firewood into a vehicle. An employeewitness em-ployeewitness said the man had not paid for the merchandise. Officers located the suspect, who admitted taking the firewood and stashing it near the store, the man was booked into the Utah County Jail for theft and a valid warrant. THEFT Reporting party said an ex-employee stole the spec books on how to manufacture sand rail dune buggies. This was reported on Jan. 21. Saratoga Springs CRIMINAL ASSAULT - Officers Of-ficers responded to a fight in the Gallant View area. The police determined that alcohol was involved with the altercation. Several men were injured, a woman suffered minor injuries from broken glass, and a vehicle was damaged.
