Show Thursday, December 20, 2007 Pagt 16 NORTH COUNTY NEWSPAPERS . m 1 a i " I ... M.W " if JEmily Marlowe NO'H COUNTY VAFT The holidays are suprxwed to be "the most wonderful time of the year." And the holidays are very serial as we get together with our friends and loved ones. But since the expectations for the holidays are greater than the rest of the year, there's usually usu-ally more work to do. To make matters more challenging, chal-lenging, there are so many other things tint need to be done this month, We still have families and children. Soccer mom's are still driving carpools, newborn babies are still not sleeping through the night and daily routines rou-tines still need to be met. The added stress of the holidays can be frustrating. Shopping, wrapping, attending holiday gatherings, and most importartly baking! There are many recipes that have been kept in your family for years I am sure. You use them year after year and have requests to have them ready and waiting during the holidays. holi-days. I hope this week to add a reciX' that will have requests next year tx). I am one who likes things very orderly. I could be de-scrilied de-scrilied as of lx.-ing somewhat Christmas Chooso Ball ) 2 small pkgs softened cream cheese 1 2 packages corn beef finely chopped (this is a cold lunchmeat; I use the Carl Budding brand.) 1 2 tablespoons minced onion 1 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 2 tablespoons accent seasoning 1 2 tablespoons dried parsley Shape into a ball; serve with crackers, pretzels or whatever makes your taste buds smile! Store in refrigerator wrapped tightly with plastic wrap to avoid drying out. obsessive compulsive. I like to be in charge, mainly so that I am sure that things are done right and done in a timely matter. This year for the holiday season I am not myself. I have told many people I can barely remember my name, let alone everything that needs to be done to make this holiday season sea-son perfect. Usually by now my gifts are wrapped, my baking is started and the house smells of perfection. This year it smells . of diapers, chaos and sleepless nights. But, I am happy with it. I am spending my every waking wak-ing moment being a mother and I would not trade that for all of the wrapped presents and fresh baked treats for anything. any-thing. I am relishing in every moment of seeing our children watch the first snow storm, seeing see-ing their eyes light up as they see all of the Christmas lights, and reading stories of the first Christmas and answering all of the questions about Christmas. Christmas will come and go like every year, and maybe this year things will not be as perfect as other years in our home, but my love is a perfect love and that is what I am striving for, for now. 1 am happy to share with you a recipe you can make that will save for days, and can be used for any gathering or those unexpected un-expected quests that we often have. This recipe is easy and delightful, and will help to ease the holiday stress. Enjoy and know that cooking is a way to share your love this season. I will look forward to more batter chatter next week. I would love your ideas and recipes. reci-pes. You can reach me at emi-lymarlowefnconnect2.com. emi-lymarlowefnconnect2.com.
