A donation of $3 per person is suggested suggest-ed for admission. Four pianists, two cellists and one vocalist, all between the ages of 10 and 16, will perform during the concert. The orchestra will be conducted by Diane Soel-berg. Soel-berg. The Visual Art Board will also announce the young artist finalist from American Ameri-can Fork High School this same evening. Following the concert a reception for the young soloists and artists will be Obituary Additional obituaries on page 7 Cecil Chamberlain Cecil June Chamberlain, age 86 of Lehi, died April 8, 2003 in West Jordan, Utah of natural causes. He was born June 16, 1916 in Cedar Fort, Utah, son of William Edward and Erma Peterson Chamberlain. He married Wanda Fox, Dec. 26, .1939 in Provo, Utah, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, 1953. Cecil was retired from U.S. Steel,' Geneva Works. He volunteered at Hutch-ings Hutch-ings Museum in Lehi, giving giv-ing tours through the mineral min-eral room. He was known as an exceptional gardner and shared an abundance of produce with family, friends, and neighbors. Survived by three sons and three daughters, Kent Fox Chamberlain, Monroe; Gary Blaine (Myra) Chamberlain, Cham-berlain, Bennion; Guy (Conna) Chamberlain, Boise, ID; Vickie (Brent) Cooper, West Valley; Donna (Ray) Seager, Taylorsville; Jill (Roger) Clayton, South Jordan; 29 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda, a son, Clint Chamberlain, his parents, and 3 brothers, Afton, LaMar, and LeRoy Chamberlain. Cham-berlain. Pianist Jessica Bastian, 15, of Axtell, will perform "Hungarian Fantasy" by Liszt. She has studied piano for nine years, played with the Nauchtmusik Orchestra and traveled on a music tour in the United Kingdom. King-dom. She has received honors hon-ors in several competitions. Her teachers have included Charlene Peterson, David Glen Hatch and Irene Peery-Fox. She is the daughter of Bevan and Gay Bastian. Pianist Heidi Bastian, 13, of Axtell, will perform Grieg s Concerto in A minor. She has studied for eight years with Charlene Peterson, Peter-son, David Glen Hatch and Irene Peery-Fox. She has also played with the NauchtmusikOrchestra and won honorable mention from the Utah Music Teachers Teach-ers Association. She is the daughter of Bevan and Gay Bastian. Cellist Elizabeth Davis, 16, will perform "Kol Nidrel" by Max Bruch. She has played cello since age 10 and also plays the elec tric five-string cello. She currently studies with Patricia Pinkston and this summer will attend the Cello Congress with Mistlav Rostroprovich in Arizona. She is a cellist in the Tim-panogos Tim-panogos Chamber Orchestra. Orches-tra. She attends Orem High School. She is the daughter of Mark and Andrea Davis. Soprano Lauren Pitcher, 16, of Alpine, will sing "0! Mio Babbino Caro" by Puccini. Puc-cini. She studied voice for one and a half years with Martha Glissmeyer and is currently studying with Betty Jean Chipman. She is also a national champion ballroom dancer and a member of the Lone Peak High School Ballroom Dance team. She has also trained in classical ballet. She is the daughter of Stephen and Mindy Pitcher. Pianist Jordan Lenhart, 10, of Highland, will perform per-form Haydn's Concerto in F Major. She has played piano for four years, currently cur-rently studying with Amanda Aman-da Nixon. She received honorable mention in the Encore Keyboard Competi- tionand an honors certificate certifi-cate in the Encore Ensemble Ensem-ble Competition. She was chosen as a finalist in the Utah Valley Symphony auditions last September. She was also named an "Outstanding Performer" in both the Encore Concerto Festival and Encore Solo Festival. She is the daughter daugh-ter of Lance and Kerilynn Lenhart. Cellist Catherine Willey, 10, of Pleasant Grove, will play Saint-Saens' Allegro Appassionato. Having started Suzuki cello at 12 months and piano at age 5, Willey was the youngest member of the Annenburg Debut Symphony Orchestra Camp in Malibu, California, last summer. She has soloed with theUtah Valley Symphony twice as well as Nachmusik and the Young Chamber Players. She has won the 4-H Talent Contest three times and performed the"Messiah" with the Lyceum Chamber Ensemble Ensem-ble last December. She is the daughter of Danell and Denise Willey. Pianist Seidi Inouye, 16, of Gunnison, will perform the third movement of Saint-Saens' Second Concerto Con-certo in G minor. A student of Irene Peery-Fox, she has been a soloist with the Utah Symphony and Utah Valley Symphony. She was the first place winner in the 2002 Utah Symphony Guild Competition and Encore Music Competition and prize winner in the Utah State Fair Competition and UMTA concerto competition. competi-tion. She also plays viola with the Utah Valley Chamber Cham-ber Players and sings with the Utah Valley Children's Choir. She has toured Europe with the Snow College Col-lege Orchestra. The approximately 80 members of the American Fork Symphony hail from American Fork and surrounding sur-rounding communities from South Jordan to Payson. The symphony is partially funded with grants from the Utah Arts Council, The National Endowment for the Arts and American Fork City.
