Program To At Forbes "Land of Dreams Come True," will title the presentation of fourth grade students at the Forbes Elementary School today, Thursday, Feb. 1. Parents and friends are invited to attend the operetta in the school auditorium at 7 : 30 p.m. A performance for students of the school will be given at 10:30 a.m. The operetta, in three acts, features songs, dances, colorful scenery, and bright costumes, according to Geraldine T. Hunter, fourth . grade teacher. About 75 students will be in the cast. The operetta is the "story of Mother Goose Land," Mrs. Hunter said. ERA Mountainland Realty, a new member of the American Fork Chamber of Commerce, is spotlighted as the business of the week. Located at 306 West Main, the firm is affiliated af-filiated with Electronic Realty Associates, a national referral company com-pany which also offers the only buyer protection plan available to sellers of property. They are an independent in-dependent branch of Mountainland Realty, which also has offices in Pleasant Grove and Orem. Members of this new company are experienced ex-perienced real estate professionals who offer a wide variety of real estate services, with the advantages ' of local market knowledge and a national marketing program. Robert W. Warnick is realtor and branch manager of the firm. He is president-elect of the American Fork Chamber of Commerce; vice-president vice-president of North Utah County Kiwanis Club; 1978 chairman of the United Way comapaign in American Fork, and a member and graduate of the Realtor Institute. He is also chairman of the legislation-taxation committee co-mmittee of the Utah County Board of Realtors. He and his wife, Carol, are the parents of four children: Gina, 15; Troy, 11; Daren, 10; and Anthony, An-thony, 7. He is a native of American Fork. Linda B. Sweat is realtor associate with the firm. She specializes in sales of homes, lots and acreage and has several years experience in the realty business. She lived in Germany for five years where she worked as a foreign correspondent. She is a member of the American Fork Lions Club. Her husband, Leon Sweat, is a calibration specialist at the Tooele Army Depot. They have two sons, Rick, 19, and Colby, 14. Dennis L. Mease, also a realtor associate, graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Brigham Yong University. He has served Utha County residents in real estate for several years. He and his wife, Linda, have four children: Brian, 9; Jared, 4; David, 3; and Lean, 1. They have resided in Alpine for the past year. Eben J. Blomquist, realtor associate, has 16 years experience in real estate general practice, and 7 years income tax preparation experience, training, and management. He specializes in real estats exchanges and development. He is a member of the American Fork Chamber of Commerce, and a former member of the Jaycees. He and his wife, Barbara, are the parents of three children: Dean, 21, a student at BYU; Wendy, 19, a student at Ricks College; Bryan, 17, an American Fork High School student. Stanley V. Hadlock, a salesman for Mountainland Moun-tainland Realty, has been in the real estate business for the past several years. He operated Stan's Shoe Repair previously. He and his wife, Joy, have six children: Grey, 28; Mark, 27; Joy Gay, 24; Curtis, 20; Sharlene, 21; and Stephen, 17. Curtis and Sharlene are currently serving on LDS Missions. American Fork Junior High started out with many super activities. Best Dress Day was held on January 17. There was also a matinee dance on that day. The Student Council assembly was held on January 19. It was a great assembly with many funny skits and a mean duel between The Incredible Hulk, Mark Hilton, and The Incredible In-credible Caveman, Troy Gasser. With other talent numbers, there were some great dances by some really talented girls. We'd like to thank Janice Crookston, Student Body program Fitness, Disco Classes Continue Physical fitness and disco dancing classes will continue in the American Fork North LDS Stake tonight, Thursday, Feb. 1, according to Betty McTague, director. The physical fitness classes will begin at 7 p.m. in the basement of the Tabernacle, continuing con-tinuing until 8 p.m. Donna Brock of Pleasant Grove will be the guest speaker. From 8 to 9 p.m., also in the tabernacle basement, disco dancing classes will be held. They are under the direction of Kay Adams, Karen Seastrand and Gayle Houston. Both the physical fitness fit-ness and the disco dancing dan-cing classes are sponsored spon-sored by the American Fork North LDS Stake Relief Society. Cancer Society Plans Skate-A-Thon The American Cancer Society's first-ever Skate-A-Thon in Utah Valley will be held in Orem and Springville Saturday, Feb. 10, co-sponsored co-sponsored by the Society and Classic Skating Center of Orem and Park Ro-She Skating Rink in Springville. Proceeds from the" event will go to research, education and service programs of the American Cancer Society, according to Raymond M. Klauck, Utah County president. "The Skate-A-Thon will last from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with participants receiving pledges from individuals on certain amounts of donations for each hour the participant skates," Mr. Klauck said. "Many prizes have been donated by local merchants, mer-chants, including a camera, two pair of roller skates, jewelry, savings accounts, etc. All participants par-ticipants are eligible to win." He said people of any age are invited to skate in the event. Sponsor sheets are available at both skating rinks, as well as at the Provo office of the American Cancer Society at 17 East 200 North, No. 203, Provo. More money than is actually raised in Utah each year, is returned to the state by the national office of the American Cancer Society in research grants to centers such as those at the University of Utah and BYU. The boys played their second game on January 31, against Pleasant Grove Junior High on our home court. We hope this season will be successful for both teams. The ninth grade evening dance was held on January 25. The band was Sandstone and they played great!! There were refreshments refresh-ments and the colors were blue, light blue, and white. The theme was "Wishing You Were Here."
