Russ Shelton, a 10-year old, pitched for the Yanks with 10 strikeouts. Bryan Strong went the route for the Sox and Troy Birk crashed a double for the losers. In the second go round, the Sox brought their hitters. Bryan Strong with 5 hits, Troy Birk 3, Calvin Chipman 3 and Bart Hardy with a pair of doubles dou-bles were the big hitters as the Sox won 28 to 6 over the Indians who were led by pitcher Tony Gurney, and David Holland in relief hit two doubles while pitching for the victors. A wild finish saw the Tigers beat the Yanks 12-10 as pitcher Brock Knight, a talented 10-year 10-year old fired for the Tigers with a 12-5 lead in the final inning, but the Yanks scared the Tigers with the winning runs on base with the final out. Kelly Winn relieved Brock and Bill Larsen led the winners with a roundtripper. Wade Fraughton and Matt Fraughton pitched and Martin Smith and Brett Street homered for the Yanks. National League reported by Marsha Neil show that the Dodgers were shutout by the Giants 2-0. The game was scoreless scor-eless through five innings when the Giants scored their pair and the Dodgers filled the bases in the final inning. Greg Nord the winning pitcher worked out of trouble for the scoreless effort. Tim Olsen and AUAJ Bryan Greening hurled good ball for the Dodgers. . The man who does not read , Ten year old Art Reesepoijjjbooks has no advantage pitched the Braves in a 7-2 over the man who cannot read victory over the Cards, with them. Carl Greening starting for the Cards. The Braves started without several of their top players as there was a mixup in the starting time, but it turned out all right for the Braves. The biggest news, however, happened in the Beehive League, Lea-gue, where Doug Cornell reported that back to back "no hitters" were hurled. Troy Hansen of the Wasps, the son of Wendall and LaVon Hansen, beat the Bees 4-1 as Hansen kept the usually potent Bee bats silent through out the game. Troy also had a good day at the bat, but he was robbed of a homerun when Bee Lane Taylor went up high and pulled down a sure "out of the park" hit. Lane's brother, Glen, also turned in a fielding gem to keep the score close. But Hansen was the "boss this time." Jeff Anderson started for the Bees and was relieved by Jon Dalton and Jon held the Wasps to one run over his five innings. The Wasps top hitters were Greg Peck 2 for 3, and Shawn Davies a double. The Hornets, behind the pitching of Greg Holman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Holman, jumped off to a good lead in 4 S3 ,22Z 851 84003 ion byLvjLlf- A copy of this report, and scrutiny BY JOHN ROBERTS innings as Holman had 10 strikouts and had allowed no hits. Team manager Lee All-ridge All-ridge elected to replace the hard throwing Holman with his own son Dallin, and Dallin was sharp as he struckout all six hitters to face him as Greg and Dallin combined to hurl the no hit, no run game as the Hornets beat the Darts 7-0. The two pitchers had 16 strikeouts of a possible 18. Holman also pounded pound-ed a roundtripper to pace the Hornets hitters. In other Beehive league games the Hornets beat the Darts 11-3 with Quinn Dever-aux Dever-aux and Kyle Hardman pitchers for the winners and Paul Tidwell and 10-year old Todd Campbell hurled for the Darts. Bill Barratt and Tidwell were both 2 for 3 at bat and Lynn Anderson a long triple. All are Darts. Hardman was" 2 for 4 including a 3 run homerun, John Stevens was 2 for 3, and David Cornell and Steve Dubois got hits for the league leading Hornets. The Bees bombed the Wasps 14-4 as Jay Holmstead hit a home run and pitched the winners win-ners to the big win. Glen Taylor and Jon Dalton were each 1 for 1 with Glen a double and Jon an over the fence job. The Wasps Brad Buckwalter, Travis Hansen Han-sen and Greg Peck all pitched with Brad 3 for 3 at bat.
