Susan Pixley of American Fork helped put the final touches on the banner carried by youth from St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Provo, in last Saturday's All State Catholic Youth Conference held in Salt Lake City. The flag pictures the Franciscan coat of arms and contains the school colors of all Utah County high schools. Forty parish students joined the estimated five hundred young people from Catholic parishes throughout Utah. The Youth Conference was a day of shared prayer, workshops, work-shops, liturgy and scripture study as well as dancing and a time to renew friendships. Featured Fea-tured speaker for the day was Father Ernest Larsen, C.SS.R., St. Paul, Minnesota, a nationally national-ly known authority on American Ameri-can youth and author of the popular "Good Old Plastic Jesus." Conducting workshops with Father Larsen were Brothers, Youth Advisors, clergy and nuns from the Dio-ceasan Dio-ceasan Youth Ministry and students from the Newman Center, University of Utah. A small boy had been watching watch-ing too many Westerns on television. tele-vision. Told by his mother one day that a great uncle had died, the boy asked, "Who shot him?"
