Their main motivating factors are to provide necessary services ser-vices supplemental to essential services of the hospital which contribute to total patient care. The auxilians also help create and promote in the community and understanding of the hospital hospi-tal and its services by becoming an important part of the hospital family and by providing the community a means of meeting human needs through volunteer services. Volunteers are assigned to all areas in the hospital such as the following: Escort service I.E. escorting patients to treatment treat-ment areas; delivering and picking up records and tests for laboratory and other needed materials; escort service for x-rays x-rays and physical therapy; delivering deli-vering flowers and mail to patients; reading, writing or visiting patients on special assignment; as-signment; working at information informa-tion desk giving information to visitors and assisting in visitor control and notifying interested religious persons of patients in the hospital belonging to their faith. I Monday and Tuesday June 23 - 24 ARCTIC CIRCL 500 East State Road - American Fork are interested m saving you money. One conserva t ion-minded ranger, Brent. McBeth, Salt l ake District-Wasatch National Forest, recently developed an idea which has already saved taxpayers thousands of dollars. McBeth is responsible for laying lay-ing underground waterpipe from mountain springs to forest s e r v i c e - m a i n t a i n e d vv a t e r troughs in the foothills. In the past, according to McBeth, laying the plastic pipe has been a big job. "It usually takes a work crew with shovels two weeks to bury one pipeline over miles of rocky terrain. "The cost of laying the pipe six inches underground runs into in-to the thousands of dollars. And at that depth, it is subject to rodent and frost damage." Last summer, while in route from Salt Lake to Stansbury Mountain Range, McBeth noticed a Mountain Bell bulldozer bull-dozer plowing cable underground. under-ground. The phone company uses a special plow which buries telephone cable with minimum disturbance to the ground. McBeth made arrangements with Mountain Bell to use one of the company's rigs and a qualified quali-fied driver for laying the pipeline. pipe-line. "With the use of the cable plow, we buried the waterpipe from 18 to 'X inches deep in most areas. This is below the frost level and beyond the rodent penetration level. "The cable path is easily covered and no noticeable scar is left on the landscape. Not only can we bury the cable deeper and with less damage to the land, but we can do the job much faster and with fewer men. Instead of four men working work-ing a couple of weeks, two men can do the job in two days." McBeth said, as far as he knows, this is the first time the forest service has called on the phone company for assistance in laying pipe. The savings of tax dollars has been substantial. 2916 2516 2116 2516 1416 2616 1316 2516 2916 1216 3516 1725 .3075 .1625 70 Pont. LeMans.. 72 Chev Camaro.- 69 Pont.
