Voters to Cast Ballots In Bond Issue April 30 Voters of American Fork will go to the polls next Tuesday, ' April 30, voting on a special bond election to finance a much needed water Improvement project. pro-ject. This project has been in the planning for the past five years, with city councils of the present pres-ent and previous city council agreeing on the need for a peri-miter peri-miter water line and other system sys-tem improvements. Installation of a ten-inch water line around the perimiier of the community will assure ample water pressure for most areas of the community. The water system will also benefit ben-efit from the additional water which will be added to the city supply through drilling of a 16-inch 16-inch well. American Fork has ample water wa-ter for present residential and industrial needs, but we must look to the future, when we will have increased industrial and residential residen-tial growth. We must not be complacent and think only of the present if we are to continue to be a progressive community. Am. Fork is growing; our water system sys-tem must grow with us. The pure underground water will not always be available and it is imperative that we secure se-cure this additional water now, before these underground sources sour-ces are cut off. Like any private improvement project, the water improvements are going to cost money. The city council, representing you as citizens, must determine the most prudent method of repaying repay-ing the $160,000 in bonds, which will ho matched bv federal funds of $127,050. Money to repay the bond issue must either come from a mill levy increase or an increase in water rates. The council has decided that an increase in-crease in the monthly water rate is the most fair and equitable way to raise the necessary funds for the project. we ceueve that this is a vital project! This project needs your support - and your vote. We urge you to go to the polls next Tuesday Tues-day and vote"yes" for the American Amer-ican Fork City Water Improvement Improve-ment Bonds. Your community and your family fam-ily will benefit from this water system improvement.
