Show HENS FROH FOLKS III ALPII1E Mr. and Mrs. Don Devey were dinner guests at the Ribary's Sunday. Charlyn Bellon, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arlin Bellon, celebrated her fourth birthday Saturday with a party. LeRoy and Darlene Page took their family and Joined with the Utah Valley Old Car Club Sunday Sun-day for a trip over the Alpine Loop and a picnic. Twelve old cars went on this trip and all but three made It over the Loop. They are planning on going out Fairfield way on their next trip. ' Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Despaln of Boise, Idaho, were conference guests at the home of Wade and Dora Davis. Clyde Turner, Bryce Pilling, J. Paul Beck and Bill Turner went to the Mantl area elk hunting. hunt-ing. Nine ladles from the Mountain-1 vllle camp attended the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Convention held Sept. 30, in the Lafayette Ballroom Hotel Utah. At 2 p.m. buses left for Henefer, Utah to visit a Pioneer relic museum. All attended the services for the dedication of Pioneer Monument and enjoyed the return trip down through the canyons over the Pioneer Pio-neer trail. Those attending were: Thelma Smith, Faye Adamson, Alice Brown, Jennie Wild, Ar-villa Ar-villa Patrick, Isabella Heaps, Alberta Bennett, and Thelma Newman. Nell and LouCille Carlisle were blessed with a dark haired baby girl Friday In the American Ameri-can Fork Hospital. Her brothers and sister, Scott, Bob, Cindy, and Teddy are thrilled with her arrival, as are grandma and grandpa Alton Carlisle of Alpine and Grandma Arvllla Turner of Am. Fork. She weighed eight pounds, 12 ounces at birth. Mr. Carlisle brought his 1967 baby home in a fancy 1932 Studebaker. Dan Vacher spent five days In the Uinta's this past week. Mrs. Jerald Llewelyn and two f little girls from Burbank, Calif., ! paid a visit to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Llewelyn recent-; iy. j Monte and Judy Williams have Judy's parents from Idaho visit- j ing with them. i j The Optl-Mrs. club met at the ' home of Mrs. Faye Adamson I Thursday. Luncheon was served to ten members, also a new member mem-ber joined them, Mrs. Gertrude Merikoffer, The Kindergarten and first and second grades and their teachers teach-ers of the Alpine Elementary loaded the bus Tuesday and visited visit-ed the City Hall, Fire Station, and Police Station In American Fork. Three mothers accompanied accomp-anied the children on the trip, Dorothy Loveridge, Terry Mc-Bride Mc-Bride and Bobby Madsen. Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Turner were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cha-vls Cha-vls and three children from Firth, Idaho. Duane Morris downed another deer with his bow and arrow this year. He killed It in the Bookcllffs area. Awards Noted at District 10 Riding Club Meet District Ten Riding Club representatives rep-resentatives held their monthly meeting at Bill and Iva's Cafe Tuesday evening with the Cedar Valley riding ckb being the hosts. President Dick Cook presided over the business meeting. Mr. Cook extended his thanks to the members In their participating at the State show that was held In Richfield. Also a letter of appreciation was sent to the Richfield Rich-field Riding Club expressing our thanks to them for putting on a very successful state show. TOP ACHIEVEMENTS Placing at the state show were: First Place, Class C Drills and the Class C Street Parade went to the American ForkBridlettes. Matched Pairs, first place, Bridlettes, and also fifth place. Ladies Pleaure Class, fourth place Bridlettes; Ladies Single Barrels, fourth place, Bridlettes. Second place Class BStreet Parade Par-ade went to the Roughouts; fourth place Class B Drill to the Roughouts; Rough-outs; first place Cow Cutting, Roughouts. Up to date, there are 88 riding clubs In the Utah State Western Riding Club Association. Associa-tion. Entry blanks were handed out to the riding clubs of District Ten to be filled out by the November No-vember meeting for the outstanding outstand-ing riding club, the outstanding clvi-? club, and the outstanding woman and man of 1967. These awards will be Judged on a point system basis. First place will be given five points, second place four points, third place three points and fourth place one point. The points to be added are the winning places that each club or member won at the district, region re-gion and state shows. The winners with the highest points will be given an award at the Utah State Riding Club Jamboree that will be held at a later date. Tuesday, October 17, will be the date for the next District Meeting. In charge will be the Utah County Sheriffs Posse. Forgive many things in others; nothing in yourself. September 27-3oy to Arnold Timp Chapter of Utah Music Teachers Meet The newly organized Tlmpan-ogas Tlmpan-ogas Chapter of the Utah Music Teachers Association began their first meeting of the 1967-68 year at the home of Mrs. Don Mitchell. Mitch-ell. Mrs. Duane Francom was co-hostess. The special guest speaker was Dr. Garrett De Jong, former Dean of Fine Arts at BYU, accomplished ac-complished teacher, linguist and author. He was accompanied by his wife. The 13 members present and two guests, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McDonald, thoroughly enjoyed (he lecture Dr. De Jong gave on the art of being a music teacher. The newly organized chapter consists of private music teach ers in the American Fork, Pleas ant Grove, and Lehl areas. The purpose of the associa tion is to help music teachers be unified in their teaching abil ities and techniques, and to give the knowledge and Inspiration to maintain a high level of teach ing. A very interesting and stimu lating year Is outlined. Some of the guest speakers will be Paul Pollel, Instructor of theory and music skills at the BYU; Eldegarde Helnke Loveland, pro fessor of music at the Uni versity of Utah; Joseph G.
