Fair secretary-Manager Hugh Bringhurst announced last Friday Fri-day that in addition to the upgrading up-grading of the fair's facilities and renovating its livestock areas, the 1966 . state , fair will bring visitors a slam bang emphasis on industrial and entertainment attractions Bell Aerosystem's 'Rocket Man, a feature of the New York World's Fair and the James Bond movie Thunderball will take to space in Ogden noon Thursday, the day before the fair, and in Provo that same evening and in downtown Salt Lake City Friday, fair opening day. The rocket man then will appear three times daily during the ten-day fair. Also appearing as free enter tainment on the fairgrounds will be Danny Thomas, Jr., and Paul Peterson, teenage star of "The Donna Reed' television show, A parade from downtown Salt Lake City to the fairgrounds at 5 p.m. will follow the fair's kickoff by the rocket man noon Friday. Major attraction of the parade will be band and float competition from all Utah towns and counties desiring to enter, County Queens will ride on the floats. Prizes will be given for three places in each competition. Educa-tion. The Foundation study shows that Instructional salary costs at Utah' s seven public Institutions of higher education rose approximately approxi-mately 57 per cent between 1960 and 1965. Student enrollment at these institutions increased 51 per cent during this same five-year five-year period. Per student instructional salary sal-ary costs at Utah's seven public colleges and universities rose only four per cent during the past five years, the report continues. Although the per unit salary costs are higher at the two state universities than at the state colleges col-leges and Junior colleges, instructional in-structional salary costs per student stu-dent credit hour for lower division divi-sion students are less at the uni versities. The Utah Foundation report points out that the larger universities axe able to keep salary sal-ary costs low by employing graduate grad-uate students as instructors for many lower division courses and by utilizing larger class sizes. The average class size for lower low-er division courses was 41.7 at the University of Utah and 44.8 at Utah State University during the 1964-65 college year. This compares with 34.4 at Weber State College, 29.5 at the College Col-lege of Southern Utah, 17.8 at the College 1 of Eastern Utah, 21.8 at Snow College, and 26.5 at Dixie College. , Bell Telephone Develops I!:; Form of English "Please use ; proper English when speaking with the com puter." Dr. McMahon has reduced the English language to a strict form In which syntax (the orderly arrangement ar-rangement of a sentence) Is clear and sentences are easily broken into component grammatical parts to avoid ambiguity. A sentence sen-tence In FASE strictly maintains the sequence of subject, verb and object; modifiers like adjectives and adverbs, and other parts of speech must fall into line. A complicated com-plicated set of rules has been devised to ensure unambiguous syntax. : " ' Sentences in FASE can be easily eas-ily parsed (resolved Into parts of speech) by a computer.
