Show Spencer Harman Dies Following Lingering Illness Funeral services for Evan Spencer Harman, 59, who died In a Provo Hospital Thursday, July 14, following a long illness, were held Monday, July 18, at 11 a.m. in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Mor-tuary Chapel in American Fork. Mr. Harman was born March 3, 1907 In Salt Lake City, a son of Isaac R. and Ethel Wilkinson Harman. He married Ferris Davis Da-vis on June 1, 1936 in Salt Lake City. He operated a sand and gravel business in American Fork for many years. He was a member of the IDS Church in the American Amer-ican Fork Fourth Ward. Survivors include his widow and his mother, American Fork; three sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Lucille) (Lu-cille) Olpin, Palo Alto, California; Californ-ia; Mrs. DellS. (Ruth) Peterson, San Jose, Calif.; and Mrs. Fay S. (Delia) Chadwick, American Fork. Rodney Turner, member of the American Fork Fourth Ward bishopric took charge of the serv ices giving a life sketch In the opening remarks. Mrs. Fern Fox played the prelude and postlude music and LaVon K. Harward offered the invocation. The family prayer spoken prior to the services was offered by Ralph Olpin. Betty Jensen, Ella Grace and Lucille Wootton, a ladies trio, sang The Lord's Prayer." Mrs. LaVon Harward accompanied them. Bishop Donald Fox was the first speaker. John Hansen gave the concluding speech. Mrs. Jensen Jen-sen and Mrs. Wootton then sang, Beyond the Sunset." Edwin Wycherley offered the benediction and Jerry Chadwick dedicated the grave in the American Amer-ican Fork City Cemetery. Pink Ladies Hold Breakfast Meeting The Pink Ladies of the American Amer-ican Fork Hospital held a Break fast Meeting last week at Bill and Iva's Cafe in Orem, it was reported by Mrs. Bingham, Pleasant Plea-sant Grove. There were 20 ladles present in addition to Mr. Mc-Tague. Mc-Tague. Those attending included Edith Lassen, Pauline Smuin, Millie Anderson, Vivian Barker, Merle Bates, Janis Bishop, Nona Bingham, Bing-ham, Thorma Beer, Alice Clements, Clem-ents, Janice Forsyth, Eloise Ferguson, Fer-guson, Marvel Peterson, Max-,ine Max-,ine Petersqn,5ve3ynSchoonover, Lela Smith, Connie Taylor, Fawn Taylor, Rowene VIbbert, Arlene Newman, Althea Wing and Wayne McTague. Library Closed Monday A notice has been given that the American Fork Library will be closed on Monday, July 25, in observance of the Pioneer Days. RESIDENTS ATTEND STREET FAMILY REUNION Mr. and Mrs. Grant Street and family of American Fork attended the Street Family Reunion Re-union held at Wines Park, Lehi, last Sunday, July 17. Each family brought their own picnic lunch and the afternoon was spent in visiting. There were some 210 family members in attendance. Installation of the Alpine Lions Club newly elected officers was held Monday, July 18, at the Steak Fry at the home of Scott Carlisle. Installing the officers was James Holley, past president of the club. The new officers are: Jay Singleton, president; LeRoy Loveridge, first vice president; Sherman Bennett, second vice president; Rulon McDanieL third vice president; Clinton Marsh, secretary; George Rasmussen, tail twister; Vaughn Hamnett, Lion Tamer; and directors, Charles Adams, Alden Farns-worth, Farns-worth, Allen Blaney and Blaine Shields. .' . An accordion solo was played by Diane Devey. Special guests at the affair were Mr. and Mrs. William Devey. It was announced at the meet ing that the Lion's Club will be selling subscriptions to the American Fork Citizen for a money raising project.
