Savings Bonds Big Business At Forbes Elementary School ' Savings bonds were big bus! ness at the Forbes Elementary School where 79 were purchased during the year tinder the Forbes P.T.A. Savings Stamp program. "Stamps were sold each Wednesday Wed-nesday during the year under the direction of Mrs. Dean Francom and Mrs. George Hatch with both students and teachers participating participat-ing in the program. Third Grade-Neal Chadwick, Local Men Join Armed Services Fifteen men In the Utah County Coun-ty area were separated from the U.S. Armed Services through the Provo Selective Service Board this past month. Jay MaHinson of American Fork was among them. Among the 26 men Joining the U.S. ; Armed Services were two from American Fork, Howard A. Cunningham, Army, and Raymond F. Roundy, Navy. The Beehive League is the newest of the three leagues in American Fork and this may be why the enthusiasm is so hlglu The officers , are really excited with the growth of their league, Although the park has been used in the past, it Is now sodded with new grass and sure looks great--vO;-:- The Beehive area was in charge of a most successful breakfast and queen contest held in con-Junction con-Junction with the season openers last week. David is the only student in American Fork ever to have won this honor. He has chosen to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Tech-nology where he will study toward to-ward a degree in math and where he has been accepted, - David has earned several a-wards a-wards and honors scholastlcally in his past two years in high school He made the trip to West Point last year for the original math paper which he wrote.
