Roundy of Manila and Steven Leo Hansen, Han-sen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Hansen of American Fork, were married in the Salt Lake Temple on October 15, with President Howard McDonald officiating. Arlitra Club Hears Dr. Stewart Grow . - i. The Arlitra Guild held their October meeting, Mrnday, 26, in the Utah Power suid Light Auditorium. The theme of-the program was centered around world government. Dr. Stewart Grow, Director of the Institute of Government was guest speaker. It was felt by'tte ladlerttiatft friS aTrafe priylledge to have such a noted . msV Dr. Grow has recently returned re-turned by a visit to twenty countries, coun-tries, having traveled 25,000 miles, confering with the heads of government in the various countries. He gave a most Interesting and informative educational discourse on his findings. He stated that the American Gov-ernement Gov-ernement is the most important in the world, but that we should up-grade our politics. Decorations were most beautiful beau-tiful with flags of all the nations displayed and the refreshments served also carried out the partiotic colors. The committee in charge consisted of Mrs. A. Frank Galsford, Mrs. Myrtle Walton and Mrs. Russell Green. Guests were Invited to attend and a total of fifty ladles were present. President, Mrs. G. Richards presided, acknowledging a card of thanks from Hope Nicholes. Other Items of business were taken care of. The prayer was offered by Mrs. Oma Mitchell and Club collect was raead b Mrs. Walton. Cultural Arts Club Enjoys Organ Recital Members of the Cultural Arts Club met Monday, October 26, at the home of Mrs. F. Haws Durfey. Assisting Mrs. Durfey as hostesses were Mrs. Earl Chad wick, Mrs. Don Mc-Cormick Mc-Cormick and M r s . Fred Warn-lck. Warn-lck. The evening was spent in en-Joying en-Joying the delightful Organ Melodies played by Joan Harmon Har-mon in a recital. Miss Harmon Har-mon Is from Murray. She began the recital with the songs from the Broadway Production, 'The Sound of Music." She played many varieties of songs including includ-ing waltz, Jazz, twist and con eluded her concert by playing the beautiful "Holy Clty.r ' A delicious luncheon of assorted as-sorted nut breads, salad and hot chocolate, was served to 23 ladles present. ' LtAVKS r'OK KENTUCKY 'Mrs. Larry (Terry Archibald) Archi-bald) Shumway left last Saturday, Satur-day, October 31 for Fort Knox, Kentucky to join her husband. Larry was recently transferred to Kentucky from Fort Polk, Loulsana where he took his Basic Training. ' Mrs. 'Shumway was accompanied accom-panied by her mother Mrs. Dean' Archibald and Larry's mother Mrs. "Norman Shumway. They will have a short visit with the couple and then return home. '"I 1 . Roundy, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lindsay, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Beverldge, Mr. and Mrs. Verl Hopkins and Mrs. Nyle Frampton, The wedding reception for the young couple was held in the Manila Ward Church the same evenng. Greeting guests at the door were Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lindsay of Pleasant Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. Orvtlle Gunther of American Fork. Sitting at the juestbook were Mrs. Karen Smedley and Miss Carole Ann Mills. Standing in line were Mr. and rMrsj John-Roundy and-Mrrand Mrs Darrel Hansen, Sterling Harris as best man, the bride ind groom, Joyce Roundy, matron mat-ron of honor, and Barbara Sor-ansen, Sor-ansen, LuJean Southam, Betty Warburton, bridesmaids, with Lynette Roundy and Ellen Hansen Han-sen as flower girls. Also greeting guests were Mr. and Mrs. John D. Roundy and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hansen. Opening and arranging gifts were Mrs. Nyhra Frampton, Mrs. Bernice Hopkins, Mrs. Shirley Roundy, Mrs. Rowene Vibbert, Mrs. LaFerne Fossen, Pat Gurr and Irene Jeppson. Serving were Marcla Parker, Lynda Frampton, Marie Hansen ind Sherrle Frampton. The bride wore a lovely gown )f lace over satin. The scalloped neckline was highlighted by rhlnestones. The back of the dress was lilghllghted with three tiers of net trimmed with lace accented with tiny rhlnestones. Her veil was silk organza with pearl centered flowers and scalloped with a tear drop pearl in center front. The bride's bouquet bou-quet was pink rose buds. The groom wore a white tuxedo tux-edo with a pink carnation. The groom has completed a two year mission in England and is presently a member of the Utah Air National Guard. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Hansen formerly of American Fork, traveled from Tall anas se, Florida, where they are fulfilling an LDS Labor Mission Mis-sion to attend the wedding. The young couple are making their home in American Fork. Jaycettes Hold Hallowe'en Party The Jaycettes held a Halloween Hallo-ween party last Friday night at the home of Mrs. Paul Mur-dock. Mur-dock. As the guests arrived, the house looked deserted but inside were smiling Jack-o-lanterns to help you fight your way through hanging cobwebs to the group of spooks already gathered there. . ' After everyone arrived they were divided Into four groups who took off on a scavenger hunt. Of all things to look for at 9:30 p.m.. were: a four leaf clover; a pair of pettie pants; a two dollar bill; a signature of patrolman on duty; a bunny and a grapefrutl! Later everyone enjoyed a supper of ham, jello salad and green salads, baked potatoes with sour cream, relished, rolls pumpkin pie, whipped cream and hot apple cider. -, Hostesses for the party were Deana Murdock, Francis Beas-ley, Beas-ley, and Barbara Hutchings and they did a terrific Job. The twenty-six spooks present had a very fun time. Intermtzxo Music. Club Entertoined By Foursome ; The Intermezzo 'Music Club members and guests wert royally roy-ally entertained by a talented foursome, Monday evening, October Oc-tober 26, at the American Fork City Hall Social Center. , Wanda Peterson of American Fork and Kathryn Dorton of Lehl entertained by singing solos so-los and duets of many of the Broadway musical productions. Narrating the sketches was Ra-Nae Ra-Nae Jensen .and accompanying the ladies was Marilyn Neil-son. Neil-son. Included In the varied rep- retolre were songs from "South Pacific, 'Annie Get Your Gun, The Desert Song,"-"Oliver," Showboat," "Sound of Music, and others. V . A plana solo, "Autumn Leaves was played by Mrs Nellson. Scott Dorton accom panied his mother on one of her numbers. Her three younger children Joined her in singing, Do Re. Mi" from the "Sound of Music: ". - The c o s t u m e changes were handled quickly and it was fas clnatlng to see the clever and appropriate costumes, most of which were made by Mrs. Dor ton. . . ; Apricot nectar and cookies carried out Halloween color scheme . ' The next meeting will be November 9 at the High School held jointly with the Federated Womens Clubs of the city. It will begin at 8 :00 and each mem -ber is asked to bring one or two guests. Half Time Features Band, Pep Club A predicted win over the American. Fork Cavemen was fulfilled when the Orem Tigers beat the local team 21-0 In the afternoon game. This leaves the two teams tied for the Region Re-gion Four Northern Division championship. At the halftlme of the game the snappy nigh school Band and the Pep Club under the direction di-rection of Gary Gordon, Drum Major of the band, put on a special spe-cial attraction that was a real eye-catcher which would hard to beat anywhere. Their marching routines and maneuvers were outstanding.', The conclusion of the Homecoming Home-coming events was highlighted by the dance held in the evening even-ing In the Girl's Gym. Music was furnished by the Bud Hutchings Hutch-ings Orchestra. The Homecoming Homecom-ing Royalty also presided over the dance. EASTER LILY IN BLOOM It isn't really spring, but Mrs. J. Class periods are held from 7 to 9 p.m. each week. Mrs. Irene Earl Is the instructor in-structor for the class which teaches exercises for figure control, Improved posture and toning up those lazy muscles. Riding Club Holds Hallowe'en Party The Roughout Riding' Club held their annual Halloween party Saturday at the Lehl Riding Rid-ing Club House. The members appeared In a variety of humorous humor-ous costumes and masks. The prizes for the best costumes went to Jennie Adamson, Kathleen Kath-leen Whltely, and Marilyn Max-field. Max-field. After the contest and the unmasking, un-masking, a delicious turkey dinner din-ner with all the trimmings was served. The remainder of the evening was taken up with the couples playing progressive Bingo. . Myrna Kaye Is a graduate of the LDS Seminary, American Fork High School, and the Utah Trade Technical Institute at Provo. She completed the Secretarial Sec-retarial Science course. She served as Vice-President of the student body at Trade Tech. i Larry James graduated from the LDS Seminary, and the Orem High School.
