Show Melvin L. Provost Now Serving in Pacific Fleet Unit Melvln L. Provost, radar man : third class, son of Mr.' and ' Mrs. L, V. Provost, American Fork is serving aboard the destroyer des-troyer CSS Mullany, a Pacific ' Fleet Unit which recently par-tleipated par-tleipated in a four day operation opera-tion off the West Coast. -, Mullany's schedule began with a "dependents cruise" Sept. 3. This allowed families and guests of Mullana crewmen to spend a day at sea and wit-ness wit-ness routine drills and operations opera-tions conducted aboard a Navy destroyer. ; The following day Mullany again headed for sea, spending three days la exercises designed de-signed to Increase the fighting efficiency of both the ship and hercrew. 'Mullany operates out of San Diego, California. More details de-tails later. - T Elvernon Ferguson Dies of Heart Attack Elvernon Ferguson, 65 of Olmsted, died In the American Fork Hospital Thursday night of a heart attack, j r He was born May 16, 1898, In Provo, a son of: W. W. and Lily Mae Richmond Ferguson. He married Elolse Coult In the Salt Lake Temple,$June 28, 1922. Mr. Ferguson worked as a first operator and foreman for the Utah Power and Light Com pany for 42 years. He had been employed at Big Cottonwood, Mlllcreek, American Fork Canyon, Can-yon, and Olmsted. ,4 1 : An active member of theLDS Church, he was a Seventy in the Edgemont First Ward, and had worked In the MLU Bov Scouts and other organizations. surviving are his widow.
