The. reminder came from the Utah Department of. Fish and Game today as the department again urged anglers to get acquainted ac-quainted with these and all other oth-er regulations shown in the 1959 angling .proclamation before going go-ing afield this year. Director Harold S. Crane noted not-ed the continuing effort to give unirorm regulations to all waters, wat-ers, but cited the fact that special spec-ial regulations must apply to limited fishing areas where problems prob-lems 'arise from trespass of private pri-vate lands or from other "necessary "neces-sary management measures. Crane said, "Fishing Is "'fine recreation, Is a game of fun most enjoyed by those who know and observe the rules of proper conauct afield and the changing regulations governing this sport. We are hopeful that each of the greater-than-ever number of anglers afield this year will know and respect these rules and reg ulations -to the end that these recreational trips will be more enjoyable." Good fishing returns should be the rule this year from the Hyrum, Wellsville, and Rex's reservoirs, res-ervoirs, and from Puffer's, Pay-son, Pay-son, and Twin Lakes. Department of fish and game spokesmen noted that these six lakes were chemically treated in 1957 to remove trash fish populations, popu-lations, restocked with fingerling rainbow a year ago and closed to angling during 1958 while the small fish matured to catchable size on the natural feed in these waters. - Field reports indicate a good survival and growth of, fish placed in several of the six lakes. Investigative surveys will be made during the summer to further fur-ther evaluate success of the rehabilitation re-habilitation program on these waters. Future plantings of small trout forecast above average aver-age creel returns .for several seasons at a greatly reduced cost of the fishing dollar in each water treated for removal of rough fish species.
