Show THE AMERICAN FORK CITIZEN, Thursday, December 11, 1958 Cavemen Defeat Uintah; Granger In Weekend Stand By Mike Prltchett The American Fork basketball season got off to a flying start last v weekend as the Cavemen defeated Vernal 55-34 Friday nlgjb and then edged but Granger Grang-er 45-42. Although the Uintah Utes wax reputed to have a winning win-ning team, they were no match .far the Cavemen who took the lead early in the game. The rebounding of Phil Read and the ball hustling of Dennis Dur-fey Dur-fey gave' the A.F. squad that added control of the ball that speHi victory. In the home session Saturday, the Cavemen reflected the symptoms symp-toms of the long Vernal trip but were still able to come through a rough session and outlast the Granger squad. . .Once-' again control of the boards meant control of the game as the Granger team proved when they went ahead at the half. Art Haven Group Sponsors Exhibit To Aid Museum Fund The Art Haven group of Lehi, is sponsoring an art exhibit which opened Monday, December Decem-ber 8, at the Memorial Building and will continue through the week. Also on display are museum items for added interest. inter-est. A small admission charge will be made. The art group is using this method to raise funds for construction con-struction of a museum to house the John Hutchings collection. Mr. Hutchings, nationally known collector, geologist and naturalist, natural-ist, has one of the finest and most valuable collections west of the Mississippi. Highlighting the week will be a program on December 11 at 7:30 p.m. at which Floyd Brien-holt Brien-holt of the art department of Brigham Young University, will lecture on all phases of art. At 3:30 p.m. on December 14, an art. tea will be held and lecturing" lectur-ing" will be Richard Gunn, also of the BYU art department. He will also show slides. All proceeds pro-ceeds of this project will be turned over to the museum fund.
