In the parade Thursday the American Fork Firemen and their ladies were outstanding in their uniforms. The men wore cowboy hats, red jumpers and Western ties, and the women were dressed in red and while uniforms. Preston Taylor arid LeGrande Terry of the local Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce organization entered a beautiful float In the parade. Riding atop the float was Miss Betty-tJingham who made a big hit with the populace. Salt Lake City will be convention conven-tion city next year. Attending the convention from American Fork wore Mayor and Mrs. Glen Anderson, Fire Chief and Mrs. Francis Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Birk, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Karren, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Chadwick, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Griffin, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ron-ald Bate, Mr. and Mrs. John Var-ney, Var-ney, Mr. and Mrs. Neldon Varney, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Varney, Mr. and Mrs. LaDrue Varney, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Chadwick. Repeat Performance Of Dance Revue Requested by Publiic Repeat performance of the dance revue sponsored by the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and under the direction cf Irene Earl, has been set for Wednesday evening, eve-ning, June 25, according to Myrtle Myr-tle R. Seastrand, chairman of the DUP Relic Hall committee. This performance will be given in the First-Filth "Ward recreation recrea-tion hall and will begin at 7:3C p.m. Prices will be, the same as the previous revue, 45 cents for adults and 25 cents for children. The high standard of the entertainment, en-tertainment, the colorful costumes, cos-tumes, and the charming personalities person-alities of the youthful participants partici-pants combined to make such an enjoyable evening that the public pub-lic has asked that it be repeated. The Daughters of the Pioneers are nearing the goal set for funds to complete the Relic Hall and would appreciate support of all persons who did not see the revue at the earlier date. Recently returning home from a twelve jlay excursion were Mr. arid Mrs. ' Alfred W. Johnson" They motored to Cedar City for the annual meeting of the building build-ing Inspectors, where they attended at-tended a banquet. From there they toured the national parks, visited St. George and Los Angeles, Ange-les, Calif. After visiting relatives they traveled up the coast through the Redwood forest, returning re-turning home through Reno, Nevada. The degree of Doctor of Medicine Medi-cine was conferred upon Dr. John E. Meyers of Lehi, Utah, at the University of Utah commencement commence-ment exercises in Salt Lake City on June 9th. Dr. Meyers plans to Intern at the U, S. Air Force Letterman Army Hospital in San Francisco, California. He is married to the former Louise Beck of American Fork. They have three children. A 1947 graduate of Lehi High School, he received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University in 1954.
