Cavemen Battle;- Pioneers to 1343 Deadlock American Fork Cavemen and Lehl Pioneers played to a 13 to 13 tie on the Lehl gridiron Friday Fri-day afternoon., , -,..,,:,,.,.,, Xt marked the second tie game American Fork has played In two weeks. The week before Coach Leo Kelson's Cavemen and Pleasant Orove fought to a scoreless tie on the P. O. field., Lehl broke the scoring ice early In the first quarter when a 55-yard forward-lateral pass play put the ball on the one and the Pioneers sneaked it across for. the first score of the game. ,.. American , Fork went ahead 13-7 by scoring two touchdowns in the second quarter. The first Caveman score came when Myron My-ron Smith Intercepted a Lehl pass and ran 40 yards to the Pioneer eleven. . A fourth-down pass, Oene Laursen to 'Milt Forbush, produced pro-duced the touchdown. The try for the extra point was no good. The Cavemen scored later In the same period .when Laursen climaxed a drive by going over from the Lehl one-yard line. Laursen's placement was good. A 10-yard march in the fourth quarter produced the second Lehl touchdown. A 30-yard pass was the key play In the drive. It iut the ball on the two.- - A line plunge for the extra point was good but Lehl was offside and the Pioneers failed to convert from the one. ' Mr. and Mrs. J. H. It was decided they would -sponsor one main project this year. , The ' date has been set for November 29, but the project as yet has not been decided upon. Funds will be donated to the following causes: cancer, polio, Red Crow, crippled children, cerebral palsy and heart, and the remainder of the money will be turned over to the swimming pool fund. Firemen Halloween Frolic A costume Halloween party was held Saturday evening - by the American Fork Firemen and Ladles. Auxiliary. The fire-house fire-house was decorated with fall flowers and corn stalks. The lace' covered serving table was centered with a large pumpkin surrounded by various kinds of fruit and flanked on either side by orange tapers. , . Mrs. J. Clyde Birk,, Warren Anderson and Neldon Varney were awarded prizes for the best costumes. : Mr. and Mrs. Leo Van Wagoner and Richard Evans Judged the costumes. A hot buffet supper was served serv-ed to forty guests.
