Alta ' Gordon Crompton, 51, widow of James F. Crompton, meet at l pjn. Thursday following follow-ing a , brief illness after a cerebral hemmorhage. Funeral service! were conducted Monday in " the Second-Seventh Ward Chapel by F. Haws Durfey, bishop bish-op of the Seventh Ward. Bishop F. Haws Durfey remarked re-marked on the devotion Mrs. Crompton had for her mother-in-law and the unity and devotion devo-tion f th family. Dr. Guy 8. Richards eulogized her fine character and told how patient and kind she was. He spoke of the chemical make-up of the body and how he knew the spirit did not die. " Elder Clifford E. Young, assistant to the Council of the Twelve, mentioned the reality of the resurrection and hope for future life. . : Opening musical number was a vocal solo by Wanda Peterson, "Wonderful Mother of Mine." Between speakers Ray TL Shelley sang, "link Divine," and to close Leota Peterson and Duane Wof- flnden sang, "Beyond the Sun set." Mrs. Raymond T Bailey played the prelude and postlude and accompanied the vocalists. The invocation was offered by Keith J. Rlchan; Wilf ord Storrs pronounced the benediction, and the grave in the American Fork Cemetery was dedicated by Isaac Peck. . , V- v- : . -f Members of the ward Relief Society cared for the flowers and pallbearers were Thomas Wof-flnden, Wof-flnden, Glen Wofflnden, Duane Woffinden, Michael Kearney, Kenneth Kearney, Grant Gordon Gor-don and Stanley Gordon. . She was born Nov. 12, 1802, in Lehl, a daughter of John Thomas and Margaret Miller Gordon. She was married' to Mr. Crompton Cromp-ton Nov. 24, 1924. He died Sept. 26, 1953. She has been an active member of the ward Relief Society So-ciety serving as a visiting teach er for several years. She is survived by two sons. James F. Crompton Jr. and J.
