Arthur Smith, who Is general chairman of the day. The celebration will open with a. band serenade at 7 sun. At 10 ajii. there will be a miniature parade which will be repeated at 6 o'clock in the evening. In the afternoon there will be a fish pond, miniature airplane zldes, and a bazaar, and a refreshment re-freshment stand will dispense varied refreshments, hamburgers, hamburg-ers, and soft drinks all during the day. There will also be a home town rodeo which promises to draw a crowd. At 2:47 he was at the fire station with his son Clark and one minute later the engine was on the way to the Denver and Bio Grande tracks to put out a fire which had broken out In a hot box on a freight car of lumber. Chief Chadwick did not know that he was being timed. As the truck left the station another of the firemen Jumped from his car to the back of the truck and others of the volunteer de partment followed In their cars In less than another minute. The car of lumber was partly unloaded before the fire could be extinguished and Mr. Chad wick estimated that damage to the lumber would amount to $150. M. O. Eckles, D&ROWRR agent, reported that the dam age to the car was minor. Thursday morning the department depart-ment was called to put out a grass fire at the back of the Presbyterian Church. At 1 am Sunday morning a false alarm called the boys to John Pulley's brooder house north of the Mary Pulley home. Someone called the Pulleys to report the fire, they called the department but on reaching the spot found the re port untrue.
